We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ebonie Feast. Check out our conversation below.
Ebonie, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
One of my proudest recent moments has been my educational journey. I graduated with High Honors from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in 2023, earning my Diploma in Culinary Arts and Operations. I continued my studies and graduated again with High Honors in December 2025, receiving my Associate degree in Culinary Arts.
Maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout both programs was a major accomplishment for me and a true reflection of my dedication and passion for the culinary field. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, with the goal of graduating with High Honors once again.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a Southern girl, born and raised in Houston, TX, and I’ve always had a deep passion for cooking. I grew up around a long line of amazing cooks, so being in the kitchen and being surrounded by those rich smells and flavors is something that’s always been a part of me.
Now as Chef E. Monae’, and a proud mother, I really discovered my God-given calling through the joy I saw on people’s faces when they tasted my food. It honestly started with my gourmet fried deviled eggs, and from there it grew into my catering business, Monae’s Southern Savory, with the love and support of my family. My cooking is rooted in Southern soul food and Creole flavors, but I also love expanding into different cuisines and creating new experiences through food. I truly thank God every day for the opportunities He’s given me and for blessing me with this gift. I credit God for my growth, my daughter for being my inspiration, and the real joy I feel when I’m creating in the kitchen. Every meal I make is cooked with love and that’s what keeps people coming back.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my daughter has truly changed me and my life. Becoming her mother matured me in ways I didn’t even realize I needed and brought a level of wisdom and purpose into my life. She inspires me to be better every day, not just as a mother, but as a woman and a business owner. Everything I do now is with her in mind, and she’s a big part of the reason I push myself to grow, succeed, and lead by example.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Honestly, plenty of times. Especially during the hard moments in school, or when I am in my two-bedroom apartment cooking for 300 people on an electric stove. Those were the times I really questioned how I was going to keep going. But somehow, I always found the strength, and I know that strength comes from God. He kept me pushing even when things felt overwhelming. In the end, it’s always worth it. Seeing people enjoy my food, love what I create, and come back for more, that’s what reminds me why I started and why I can’t give up.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that what really matters to me is God, my daughter, and the impact I have on others. My faith is the foundation of everything I do, it guides my decisions, my mindset, and how I treat people. They would also say I’m big on love, authenticity, and making sure people feel cared for, whether that’s through my words or my food. I take pride in being genuine and showing up fully in everything I do. Most importantly, they know I care about purpose. I don’t just want to exist; I want to walk in what God has called me to do and make a difference while I’m doing it.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Honestly, the love I put into every dish I create. My food isn’t just about taste, it’s about the care, passion, and intention behind it. I make sure every plate feels personal, like it was made just for you. I think my customers would miss that feeling just as much as the flavor, the experience of knowing their food was made with genuine love, and that every detail mattered.
