We’re looking forward to introducing you to Evelin Cruz. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Evelin, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Being recognized as E PHOTO in a city filled with so much talent is something I’ll always be proud of. To know that my work speaks for itself and that people remember me by name—that’s the biggest compliment I could ever receive.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Evelin Cruz, I am a wife and mother to four wonderful children but most people know me as E PHOTO. For nearly a decade, I’ve been capturing stories, emotions, and memories through my lens here in Houston and surrounding areas. What started as a simple passion quickly grew into a full-time business that I’m proud to call my calling. Today, E PHOTO is recognized for creating timeless portraits and themed sessions that celebrate life’s most important moments.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
A powerful moment I’ll never forget was realizing I could build something from nothing. Being a busy mom, I learned to balance life’s chaos while still creating a business from home and giving myself that freedom to be present for my children’s most important moments. That’s when I knew my strength was real.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My biggest fear has been not being able to provide or be enough for my family. As a wife and mom of four, that thought has weighed on me many times. But it’s also what has fueled me to push harder, grow stronger, and keep going even when it felt impossible.
I used to let the fear of judgment hold me back—worrying about what people would think, if they’d support me, or if I was worthy of recognition. Once I realized my passion and purpose mattered more than opinions, I started stepping into my own power.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say family is what matters most to me. Everything else I do flows from that love. I love and care deeply.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would miss the way I make photography accessible for everyone. From the specials, deals, and fun promotions to simply working with families to stay within a budget, I’ve always believed that everyone deserves beautiful memories without breaking the bank.
If I ever stepped away from photography, I know people wouldn’t just miss the pictures—they’d miss the way I made them feel. The comfort of being welcomed, the fun of having a hype girl cheering them on, and the trust of having a friend who listens to their stories. That’s the heart of what I bring to every session.
I’m not chasing riches—I’m already rich in love, family, and the life I’ve built. My work is an extension of my purpose, and I’m grateful that photography allows me to serve others while also caring for my loved ones. Money is just a tool; true wealth is the joy, connection, and memories I get to create and share.
