Exploring Life & Business with Evan Jupiter of Fast Lane Grillz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Jupiter.

Evan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Back in 2023, I had just gotten off a hitch offshore and headed to Houston to look at some potential investment properties. At the time, real estate was where I thought my next big opportunity was going to come from. But on the drive to Houston, something completely different caught my attention.I saw an advertisement for Grillz. At the time, my ex had just thrown my old set away, so I was already in the market for a new one. While taking a break from looking at properties, I decided to go get fitted. When I walked into the jewelry shop, I wasn’t expecting much. But when I got inside, I noticed a Black man behind the counter. That immediately caught my attention. After getting fitted for my Grillz, I started talking to him. I began asking questions about the jewelry business how he got started, how the industry worked, and what it would take for someone like me to build a business of my own.I told him I was from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and that I already knew I had a potential customer base back home. I didn’t need someone to build the business for me. I just needed somebody who had already done it to show me where to start. That conversation changed the direction of my life. What started as a trip to Houston to look at real estate turned into the beginning of Fast Lane Grillz.Three years later, what started with me getting a new set of Grillz has turned into a business that has created over 400+ Grillz and worked with NBA players, a UFC fighter, artists, and well-known socialites.Looking back, I went to Houston thinking I was going to find my next investment property. Instead, I found an opportunity that would become my business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything but smooth lol. The main struggle I face is juggling my business life and career. While being a jeweler I’m still a commercial diver for 8 months out the year. Having to work 10-14 hours a day 7 days a week for months at time makes it really difficult to find time to ensure my clients get the best of me at all times possible but with the help of family it makes the challenge a lot easier.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the moment we specialize in making custom Grillz for people but soon we’re rebranding to Fast Lane Gems to open our catalog to bracelets, Chains, pendants, and many more jewelry items!
What sets FLG apart from other jewelers is the quality of our work! We make sure to provide quality customs pieces every time! I’m most proud of the journey this business has taken me on. The amount of people I’ve help increase their confidence is priceless in my opinion! I want the readers to know that profit isn’t my first objective with my company making sure you get a quality jewelry piece is!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5-10 years I want to open a storefront in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that way it helps build that legacy for me to be able to pass onto my future children.
