Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m one-half of the Signature Sudz husband/wife duo and mom to Sidney, Kayla & Jordan. My husband, Robb & I started our Laundry Service nearly 5 years ago and created our product line last year. Signature Sudz Laundry Soaps was a pandemic baby. We were having a hard time finding store-brand cleaning products for our laundry service. Drastic times call for drastic measures, so Robb jumped into action. He started researching natural cleaning agents that could be combined to create our very own laundry soap. We worked together to perfect the formula and curate our Signature Scents, even getting our daughters involved in the process. The girls helped us choose the right combos of essential oils and inspired the name of 4 of our five scents: ‘Simply Sid’, ‘Just Jordan,’ ‘Clearly Kayla’, & ‘Marie Magic’, (Everyone’s middle name is Marie, including me!)
From there, we rolled out the product to our laundry clients and were blown away by the positive feedback! The natural ingredients and variety of scents combined with the amazing cleaning power were a hit. Our clients with sensitive skin concerns have been most impressed with what’s NOT in our soaps. No animal by-products, no artificial preservatives and no mystery ingredients. Just simple, natural cleaning agents and essential oils. To date, roughly 98% of our nearly 500 clients use our products with their weekly laundry order.
But what about the laundry they don’t send to us? Several clients inquired about purchasing our products for their household use, which led us to begin packaging, selling and shipping our laundry soaps nationwide. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running our business and developing/launching our product while also homeschooling three elementary kids during a global pandemic has been… interesting. Early mornings and late nights are the norms in our house, but we make it work. Our kids have been super helpful. They love going to Markets with us, especially when someone purchases “their scent”!
We’ve also had a tremendous outpouring of support from our community. From sharing product reviews online to shouting us out on Social Media, folks have truly made this experience worthwhile!

We offer Natural Laundry Products that are safe for the whole family. This was especially important to us because our oldest daughter, Sidney, has struggled with eczema for years. We’ve finally been able to use a product that works for our entire family, which has been a huge relief. Our cleaning agents are gentle on the skin yet tough on dirt, stains and odors. We use our products both at home and in our laundry service, so we can stand behind their effectiveness. It was also important to us to make our products affordable. As a family of 5, we know how quickly the family budget can escalate! We want people to know that there are natural options out there that don’t cost a small fortune and actually work.
We’re proud to be a family-owned business. We’re building generational wealth for our three young daughters and hope to inspire other aspiring entrepreneurs (and someday our girls) to go for it!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Local Farmer’s Markets have been great for networking! We’ve met so many amazing local vendors who work together to share resources and offer support. It’s been a truly rewarding experience!
