Gisela Lopez of Webster Tx on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Gisela Lopez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Gisela , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Being able to enjoy time with my family and friends. Being present in my son’s life and hobbies.Having balance between work and personal life is something we all should be able to do.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Gisela, I am the owner of Hair Artistry by Gisela. I have been doing hair 20 years and counting. My mission behind the chair is able to give women hair of their dreams that suits their lifestyle

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The moment I decided to open up my own business and no longer work for others

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, in fact 10 years into my career I almost quit. I was burned out, uninspired and working in a toxic environment

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
This is something I’ve always said, “what you see on my social media pages is the real me” because it is important to be and stay real behind the lense.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Definitely that I enjoyed life to the fullest. I don’t take anything for granted and I believe in making each moment count. Never wait to take time off and enjoy life, or never wait for the right time to book that trip and make memories with your loved ones.
