Hidden Gems: Meet Amari Franks of Naail.euphoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amari Franks.

Hi Amari, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a thing for nails since I was younger. I’ve always been a girly girl, I can remember in elementary I would come home every day and paint my nails a different color for the next day, I started wearing acrylic nails in middle school I felt like nails were the way I expressed myself. I started my nail business originally back in 2020 mid-pandemic. I tried a lot of different side things but nails were what really held my attention. I got so intrigued with it so fast the art of it amazed me. I would sit and watch YouTube videos and TikTok’s of nails all day, trying to perfect my craft I had a job at the time I would get off at 7pm and come straight home to practice on nails. I kept practicing but I wasn’t seeing the progress that I hoped for I eventually got discouraged and stopped doing nails. On my “break” from nails I was still be infatuated with anything nails I just couldn’t get enough. Fast forward to January of 2022 I decided to take a nail class because I knew it was my passion I just needed to fix a few imperfections and since my nail class I’ve had tremendous growth in my business I know it’s only the beginning for me!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing comes easy in life. It’s dedication and passion that helps you overcome the challenges. When people talk about entrepreneurship, they only talk about the good things about it; they don’t talk about the sacrifices and risks you have to take or late nights and the early mornings because you are the one running the whole business most of the time you don’t have employees to cut the slack for you in the. Something I struggled with was being patient with myself I had to learn it’s all a mind thing if I’m not right mentally, I can’t be there for my business like I need to be. I find myself to be a pedant person so I tend to doubt my work a lot so I had to start telling myself why would someone want to come to get a service done by you if you aren’t confident in your own work.

We’ve been impressed with Naail.euphoria, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Houston-based nail tech who specializes in acrylic nails. Although I am just starting out in this industry, I feel like my “shortie” sets is what I am known for when my clients come in that’s the first thing they bring up is how a lot of nail techs don’t do short sets. The thing I am most proud of with my brand is my growth I didn’t have anyone to help me figure things out or to ask questions I started from nothing and I am working my way up, mistake by mistake.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me the happiest is knowing that my family is always rooting for me on the side. They have played a big part in the growth of my business, just always pushing me to keep going no matter how discouraged I am. Just knowing they are proud of me and that I have genuine people in life makes me so grateful!
