Today we’d like to introduce you to Letricia Medina.
Hi Letricia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into professional organizing started with encouragement from my husband and brother. I have always been someone who enjoys keeping things organized and in order, and I have always loved shows like *Hoarders*, *The Home Edit*, and Marie Kondo. They both told me I should consider turning that passion into a business.
One of my first steps was joining NAPO, the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals. I attended my first conference in Chicago last March, where I met amazing organizers and learned so much from the speakers. That experience confirmed that I had made the right choice.
I chose the name The CALM Method because calm energy and organization have always been a big part of who I am. CALM stands for Curator, Affirmer, Liberator, and Manifester, which reflects how I guide clients to create a space that works for them, decide what they want to keep, let go of what no longer serves them, and celebrate the progress they make along the way.
Since then, I have expanded the business to include cleaning services and, most recently, space refreshing. I am currently helping a client update his home by coordinating painting, handyman services, décor, and furniture recommendations based on his personal style.
What I love most is seeing my clients’ reactions and helping them create spaces that feel less overwhelming, more organized, and more like home. I hope to continue growing The CALM Method and adding services that help clients feel more comfortable and confident in their spaces.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been networking and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone to meet and talk to new people. I also tend to doubt myself and wonder whether I’m going to do a good job, especially because every client and every space is different. But with each client, I’ve learned to trust myself more. They have been so appreciative of the work I’ve done, which continues to build my confidence. I’m also learning the business side as I go. From marketing and pricing to figuring out which services are the right fit for The CALM Method. Every experience has taught me something and helped me grow.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The CALM Method is a professional organizing business focused on helping clients create spaces that feel less overwhelming, more functional, and more peaceful. My services include decluttering and organizing, cleaning, space refreshing, packing and unpacking, donation drop-off to local charities, and project management. What sets me apart is the way I guide clients through the process without judgment or pressure, while encouraging and celebrating their progress along the way. Because of my background in project management, I’m also able to coordinate multiple moving parts and help keep projects organized from start to finish. I’m most proud that The CALM Method has grown into more than just organizing. I’m helping clients feel supported, confident, and more at ease in their homes.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I’d say just be yourself. Especially when having to network. It’s a little scary but get out there and start talking about your business. Be confident.
