Hi Moriah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I became a mom at a young age, and at the time, I honestly didn’t know what my purpose was or where life would take me. I knew I wanted to create a better future for myself and my family, so I went to trade school and became a dental assistant, a career I stayed in for five years.
When I became pregnant with my third child, something shifted in me. I started dreaming bigger and realized I wanted more out of life. I began hustling outside of my full time job, selling wigs and bundles while looking for other opportunities to grow.
That’s when I noticed tax classes being offered in my city. I knew nothing about the industry, but I was determined to learn. I worked under someone for two years, gaining experience and understanding the business before taking a leap of faith and branching out on my own.
Two years later, I’ve built a six figure tax business with a team of 31 people. What started as me simply wanting more for my family has turned into something much bigger. I’m proud to serve my community, friends, and family while also creating opportunities for others.
My journey taught me that you don’t have to have your entire life figured out to become successful. Sometimes you just have to recognize an opportunity, be willing to learn, work hard, and believe that your current circumstances don’t determine where you can go.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was simply trying to figure life out with little to no guidance. There was no blueprint and no one holding our hands or providing for us. My kids’ dad and I were just two young, determined people who knew we wanted to change our circumstances and create a better future for our children.
Business brought a different set of challenges. After four years, one of my biggest lessons has been learning people. I’ve learned to pay attention, watch for crossed intentions, keep my emotions out of business decisions, and understand that everyone around you may not have the same heart or intentions you do. Through it all, I’ve learned to stay focused, keep grinding, and never let setbacks distract me from the bigger picture.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that may surprise people is that I’m actually a very private and distant person. Outside of business, I’m really simple. I love spending time with my kids, creating memories with them, traveling, shopping, and of course getting my nails done lol. I’m very family oriented and I genuinely enjoy my peace and staying in my own little world.
