Hidden Gems: Meet Natalie Hobock of Houston Dyslexia LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Hobock.

Hi Natalie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’d love to! I opened Houston Dyslexia LLC about ten years ago to serve students with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, along with other co-occurring conditions. In total, I have almost 25 years of experience inside and outside of the classroom. Before opening Houston Dyslexia LLC, I spent the majority of my career working in private schools, primarily at schools serving students with learning differences such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. Within public and private schools, professionals and administrators saw my dedication, expertise, and passion, and I held many leadership positions as well. Then, I decided to move into private practice and founded Houston Dyslexia LLC.
As a CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) and Reading Therapist who is fully Neuhaus-trained (Orton-Gillingham/Structured Literacy), I provide expert-level dyslexia and dysgraphia therapy. I am extremely fortunate to have a profession that I love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth road! COVID lockdowns meant I had to move everything online quickly, which took many extra hours to ensure I had everything prepared for optimal student success.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Many aspects set Houston Dyslexia LLC apart! A few of the many aspects that set Houston Dyslexia LLC apart are that I offer highly personalized one-on-one dyslexia and dysgraphia therapy tailored to each individual’s needs. I take a vested interest in each child, and I have extensive training and experience working with complex learning profiles. I partner closely with families, providing compassionate, expert support focused on meaningful, lasting progress.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that my family and a good number of friends live here. I absolutely love Tex-Mex food. I can do without the heat and humidity!
