Hidden Gems: Meet Presley Hicks of Skulpt Lagree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Presley Hicks.

Hi Presley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
SKULPT was built from a lifelong love of movement. I grew up with parents who prioritized fitness and instilled that discipline in me from a young age. I began teaching Lagree during college and quickly fell in love with the method, the intensity, the intention, and the way it transforms both body and mind. That passion led me to bring SKULPT to Houston, creating a space rooted in strength, community, and the best 45 minutes of your day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I graduated college in December with plans to move to Fort Worth, but when those plans fell through, I found myself in a moment of uncertainty. What came from that was something I could have never planned the opportunity to create SKULPT at such a young age.

What started as a pivot quickly became purpose. I wanted to build something for the Houston community that felt different a space where people could come together, move with intention, and disconnect from the outside world. For 45 minutes, it is not about work, stress, or distractions it is about you.

SKULPT is here to give you the best 45 minutes of your day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Lagree is built on time under tension, making it one of the most effective workouts for longevity, muscular strength, and endurance. Using spring-based resistance, it delivers a full-body, 45-minute workout focused on slow, controlled movement, static holds, and intentional pulses.

What makes Lagree so powerful is its accessibility. It is truly for every age and every stage of your fitness journey, with the ability to modify or level up depending on what your body needs that day.

This is something I knew I had to bring to the Houston community because of how much it impacted me not just physically, but mentally. It is more than a workout, it is a reset.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
One of the biggest risks in building SKULPT was ensuring it was created with strong intention from the very beginning. It was so important to me that everything, especially our team, reflected the values and foundation I stand for.

I was incredibly intentional in hand-selecting each of our instructors, choosing individuals who not only excel in Lagree but who genuinely embody warmth, encouragement, and care. Creating a welcoming, loving, and uplifting environment was always the priority.

SKULPT is more than a studio, it is a space people are drawn to, a place where they feel supported, connected, and truly at home.
