Today we’d like to introduce you to Darla Delayne.
Hi Darla, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in the Humble/Kingwood area, studied education, psychology, and math at SFASU, and started my career as a teacher in Humble ISD. For 40+ years now I’ve had careers in the fields of education, psychology, real estate, mortgage, film production, online business, and coaching. Over the years in each industry, I’ve focused on guiding women through the process of creating, building, and growing aligned, sustainable businesses. And… my favorite job has been raising my four amazing children.
From these experiences grew SHE’S CEO Business Education Center using my strength in identifying what doesn’t work and creating solutions that make a difference. During my life I’ve developed the superpowers of always having plenty of time and turning overwhelm into clarity, chaos into structure, and dreams into actual, actionable plans. I blend psychology, strategy, intuitive leadership, extensive experience, and simple systems to help early-stage women entrepreneurs step into CEO-level confidence without overworking.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not smooth, but the struggles I’ve had along the way are what led to creating this business. My journey of determination in finding a better way in whatever I felt was blocking my success was always trial and error until I discovered the better structures and systems that became a easier, more effective solution. I’ve always had a drive to share these with others so they can avoid the problems I was experiencing and move forward with more ease. I’ve had many businesses in several different industries, and each one came with a challenge to overcome. From lack of funding, to not enough time, and overworking to exhaustion, not to mention a COVID shutdown, divorced single mom issues, and technical revolutions completely changing how business is done many times over. My story is one of leading and solving problems with practical solutions based on my experiences.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I had a very successful high-ticket private coaching business helping growing businesses scale, and then, in the late summer of 2024, I felt the intuitive nudge for a major pivot. Instead of rushing toward change, I was guided to do something I had never done before: Stay still. Sit in it. Surrender without running. Let the next version of myself and my business find me. It was disorienting, emotional, confronting… and ultimately transformative.
What emerged was a clearer, stronger, more aligned Darla, one whose decisions are guided by intuition, clarity, love, and deep inner knowing rather than fear. From this new place, one thing became undeniable: My next era was calling me away from private coaching and into a scalable, legacy-driven model that could serve more women with greater impact. This led to the creation of SHE’S CEO Business Education Center, a growth hub for ambitious women who do business differently.
I put my life’s work into a method that reflects everything I now know to be true: Women don’t need more strategies piled on top of incomplete foundations. They need a clear way to build the business itself and a safe place to do it in. If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I remember being a happy, polite, and creative girl who took pride in being a responsible daughter and big sister. I loved spending time with my friends, dancing, playing outside, and getting lost in a good book. School was one of my favorite places, and I loved almost every subject. I was the girl with her hand raised, eager to answer a question and get validation from the teacher. Outside the classroom, I played flute and bass clarinet, was a twirler and later drum major in band, and absolutely loved being involved in theatre. With so many interests, choosing what to study in college was a real challenge. I was hardworking, eager to please, and definitely a perfectionist (lol), always wanting to do my best and make the people around me proud.
