Today we’d like to introduce you to Lena’s Asian Kitchen.
We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Lena’s Asian Kitchen was founded by Chef Lena Le with the goal of providing Healthy prepackaged Asian meals, alongside with training and providing jobs for Domestic Abuse Survivors.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We have been open for only a little over 2 weeks, obviously, it was not easy, but we have been blessed with a lot of support and orders from all of our family & friends & customers. The struggle we are having most now is our employees who are domestic abused or trafficking survivors. As they start their new life which is basically from scratch: no homes, no cars, no savings. We have to work closely with them to see what is best for both parties and make it work with them so they can have a financially independent new life!
We’ve been impressed with Lena’s Asian Kitchen, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Asian food is so delicious, we are talking about all different kinds of Asian; from Vietnamese to Thai, Korean to Japanese, Indian to Lebanese, etc… But this is a new concept for Asian food in general, and for the Asian market in particular! Our older generations of Asians like to have their food fresh and hot so either they would cook at home, or go to a restaurant! Us Asian we don’t have fast food chains. So to think about prepared meals in microwaveable containers, ready to eat … that’s a brand new concept! With all our high-grade meat, organic vegetables, packaging materials (boxes, bubble foil, ice packs, labels, nutrition facts (macros), the cost adds up, which makes our meals are more expensive than the usual Asian food.
But we know our foods are so delicious, so convenient for those busy bees or people who don’t have time to cook, or can’t cook. On top of that, we are working our way to have over 30 different dishes on our menu for people to have choices!!! It’s going to be great!!!
