Today we’d like to introduce you to Ola Kembi.
Ola, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been in the Healthcare Industry and leadership for over 18 years. I am a Registered Nurse but work only part time or as needed now since I become a REALTOR. I started thinking about Real Estate right before we moved from Maryland to Texas in 2013, I needed the flexibility and time with my family which I never got working all these years due to the nature and demand of my work being a Nurse. My Children were getting to that crucial time of their lives where we as parents had to be more involved in their daily activities. I had to revisit my love for real estate at that point and wanted something I could be my own boss with the opportunity to have some flexibility with my time. I am fairly new in the game but have a lot of experience with people since Real Estate is a customer service kind of work. I have developed communication skills, empathy, attentive listening, Integrity, organization and so many more qualities along the way as a nurse that will be helpful to me as a Realtor now.
I went further as a Realtor to educate myself more because knowledge is never lost and validates me. I am very aware of my market, what goes on in and out, amenities, school zones and so much more. I have some designations under my belt that has made me more marketable to my potential buyers and sellers. I am a certified Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Graduate of Realtor Institute(GRI), Social Media Pro (HSMMS), At Home with Diversity(AHWD), Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE) and some more in the works.
My most important goal is bringing a smile to the face of my clients from the beginning of any transaction to the end. My enthusiasm is providing the best service possible to my clients by listening attentively to their real estate needs including connecting them to the resources needed. You can count on me to make this a fun, easy, and stress-free experience whether you are looking to buy or sell a home. When I am not assisting with my real estate clients, or part timing in the Hospital, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our beautiful children, volunteering, cooking, baking and traveling.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road since this is a new Field. However, the most important thing is if you show people what you are made of they will appreciate you and your work ethics. Integrity is very important in our field, say what you mean and mean what you say.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business name is Jmk Realty currently working with EXp Realty, I cannot be a Broker until 4 years in the Industry. I serve buyers and Sellers. What sets me apart is that I take my work seriously and personalize each transaction according to the Client. I also have the designations to back it up as a graduated Realtor from Champions school of Real Estate, however I went further to educate myself in other areas to be able to serve my clients with all the designations listed earlier in my above questions.
