Joe Whit’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Joe Whit and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Joe, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recently called my daughters’ school to get some information about her school supplies, and the teacher randomly tells me that my daughter is definitely a daddy’s girl, because she talks about me all the time. It made me feel happy and a proud father.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Joseph Whitfield, some may know me as Joe Whit. I am a great father, God fearing man, and a very talented bassist that has travelled the world providing great music and energy. I am the founder and ceo of WhitStyle Entertainment LLC , where we offer nothing but the best quality music, exciting energy, and a sound like non other. I’ve recently started a zydeco band called Joe Whit & The Zydeco Hittaz…we released our first single 7/4/25 entitled “Leave Me”, GO GET IT TODAY! We are now working on dropping our first Ep in the up coming months. Stay tuned!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My father.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
My brother and I use to get beatings almost everyday. Yes beating us is NOT a good thing by far, but other than that my main thing was why can’t we be told why not to do something other than “just don’t do it because I said so”. I’ve healed from it by choosing to handle my own kids differently. I don’t whoop them, instead I sit them down and explain why they can’t do or say whatever.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Definitely my children first, then my music.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a great father, and one hell of an entertainer.
