Kemelya Scott shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Kemelya, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I feel like, for me to be this age and in the position I am in right now, I am living my best life. First thing in the morning, I wake up to my son’s voice saying good morning, or I wake up on my own to silence. The silence is the best option for me. I usually have a glass of water, news for the weather, and coffee. I stretch or do some type of yoga. Get ready for the day, breakfast, and a workout.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Imagine sitting in the best surroundings, doing what you love, and with an excellent DJ playing in the background. Epic interactions are happening with people from everywhere and from all different backgrounds. You are thinking, how did all this happen? How did I end up here? Who thought of this amazing vibe?
Behind the scenes is me, your brand or vibe curator—Kemelya, or on INSTA as Kemelyavibe. I host events and create flyers, business procedures, marketing, branding, and social media management.
I wouldn’t be able to do these things if it weren’t for the community of followers. I am also thankful for those who allowed me to help see their business grow to new levels, and for not being afraid to put myself out there to achieve my goals.
Currently working on, continuing to grow my community of followers, branding, social media management, hosting, and business procedures for another company.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My grandfather is one of the most amazing men I’ve known in life. He was a Navy vet, had the heart of gold, and wanted nothing but the best for his family. We were not close at the end, but in life, if I am ever feeling lost, I can look back on the foundation he gave me and be okay.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Life gets hard. Suffering has really taught me no matter how difficult life gets stick to the plan. Suffering will shape you. Use it for motivation. Use it to overcome your lives most difficult situations.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The most important things that matter to me are my peace, family, and environment.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If people think I don’t care now. I would definitely not care. Not in a bad way. Like not loving anyone and mistreating people. I would live more out loud, make my own rules as I go, and not care if people were judging.
