We’re looking forward to introducing you to Koncept – P. Check out our conversation below.

Koncept – P, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
The most recent proud moment ive had was closing on my first real estate property last month! I am now a proud Homeowner all because I stuck to my passion for music. Being able to work for myself and make strides like this is also a constant reminder of how proud I am of my progress.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
I have had a lot of mentors and teachers throughout my years of producing music. Although some have been very prominent, it has not been so much about “who” taught me, but more “what” has taught me the most about work. When I was in jr. high and high school is was in the school drum line and percussion band, doing so required a lot of practice, patience, and dedication. not only that but i knew my fellow drum line peers were all relying on each other to perform and execute our routines/field performances. That gradual improvement through consistency and teamwork was what I learned the most.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Ill keep this one short and simple… Suffering/failing is what makes all the good moments and success worth it!! If life was only about winning and succeeding then we would never appreciate the success. Its all about balance.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie the music industry tells itself is that success happens over night. I DO know that one song or one video clip of a song can change your life. But it is not overnight. Financial success in the music industry takes a little time to accumulate even if you have a huge song come out.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am definitely doing what I was born to do. Music has ALWAYS been my calling ever since I was a toddler. When I was about 5 years old I was a very hyper kid that loved to “play the drums” on any surface I had available. So naturally, my parents bought me my first drumset to see if i gravitated to it and the rest was history.
