We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bianca Barona Abud. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Bianca, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I find immense joy in volunteering with community organizations. Giving back has become a core part of who I am—whether it’s decorating hospital doors to bring smiles to children, organizing donation drives, or spending time supporting seniors through small acts of kindness. These experiences remind me that true success isn’t just about business growth, but about creating joy, hope, and connection wherever we can.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Bianca Barona, and I’m the founder of Princess & Tiaras Spa Celebrations — a mobile spa party experience for girls that brings beauty, confidence, and joy on wheels. What started as a simple dream has grown into a heartfelt mission: to create magical, empowering experiences where every girl feels celebrated and loved.
I started this journey ten years ago, shortly after my son was diagnosed with leukemia. That chapter changed my life and gave me a new perspective on what truly matters — moments of joy, family, and community. Out of that experience, Princess & Tiaras was born, blending creativity and compassion to spread happiness one sparkle at a time.
Today, our pink spa bus travels across Houston bringing unforgettable celebrations to families — complete with robes, glitter, music, and laughter. But beyond the glamour, what makes our brand special is our heart. Each event we host carries the message that joy is healing, love is powerful, and kindness always shines brightest.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was when my son was diagnosed with leukemia. Becoming a mother already changed my perspective on love and care, but walking through that journey with him — and seeing other children at the hospital smiling even through their most painful treatments — taught me the real meaning of strength, faith, and gratitude.
My children gave me a new way of seeing life: that everything passes, and that our attitude defines how we face both joy and hardship. That lesson became so meaningful to me that I even got a small tattoo that reads “this too shall pass” — a daily reminder that no matter what happens, light and hope always return.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life came when, just a month after my son was diagnosed with leukemia, the company I had worked for over ten years went through a major restructuring, and my position as Sales Director for Latin America was eliminated. I had always believed I was in control of my life and my career — until that moment. Suddenly, I found myself without a job and facing my son’s uncertain health journey.
It was one of the most frightening times of my life. I questioned everything — my purpose, my future, my strength. But through my faith, and with the love and support of my husband, my daughter, and my family, I found a new sense of clarity. I realized that every season in life — good or bad — eventually passes. That lesson became the foundation of my healing. I chose to face my fear, trust the process, and open myself to a completely new world — the world of entrepreneurship.
What began as a moment of loss eventually became the birth of Princess & Tiaras Spa Celebrations — a dream built from faith, love, and the belief that even in our hardest moments, we can create something beautiful.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
As a Latina, the value I protect at all costs is family. It’s the heart of who we are — our strength, our support, and our reason to keep going. My family has been my anchor through every challenge and the inspiration behind everything I do. In our culture, family isn’t just blood — it’s community, love, and the way we lift each other up through faith and unity. That deep sense of connection is something I carry into my work, my relationships, and every project I create. It’s the heartbeat behind everything I stand for.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my role, and everything I own, what would remain is my faith. It’s the thread that has carried me through every storm and the light that has guided every decision I’ve made. My faith has taught me to see purpose in pain, to choose gratitude over fear, and to believe that love can heal even the deepest wounds.
More than any title or possession, I hope what remains of me is the example of a woman who never stopped believing — in God, in goodness, and in the power of hope.
