Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with DJBrandice The Musical Healer of Houston

DJBrandice The Musical Healer shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning DJBrandice, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Prayer time is always first before I do anything else. I take joy in the early morning silence followed by a 30min workout.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m DJBrandice “ The Musical Healer”. I’m a singer songwriter and musician. I love music with a passion and believe it’s Gods will for me to inspire and encourage people, using the musical gift he’s given me. Currently working on new music which I hope to release next year 2026.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest I can remember is when I broke out of my comfort zone and decided to sing professionally. It’s like a lightbulb switch was flipped. I felt and still feel I have the power to do anything just don’t be afraid to do it.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been several times in my life I almost gave up, even to the point of not wanting to live anymore. Life is always going to make it difficult to keep going even on things you love to do. Thankfully God has blessed me with people who care about me and show it everyday.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is authentic just like the real me. I’m never fake in public or in private. What you see is what you get but when you take time to dive deeper in me you’ll find many gems that make you love me even more.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
My early years I did what I was told to do, but after high school when I hit college God made everything clear about what I was truly born to do. I tried doing somthing other than music but music would always call me back in someway. I was born to inspire and encourage people in a positive way using music. I feel at peace and full of joy using my musical gift.
