Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Heather Keller of Kingwood

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Heather Keller. Check out our conversation below.

Heather, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Reformer Pilates- I miss it when I miss a day! I love starting my morning with feeling strong and accomplished. It definitely sets the tone for the day, and I have amazing instructors that are encouraging, interesting, and make me laugh!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Heather Keller, the founder of Perfect Landing Travel, a small luxury travel agency based in Houston. I don’t just book trips, I choreograph them. My focus is on crafting bespoke itineraries that balance flow, place, and personality so each journey feels effortless yet unforgettable.

What makes Perfect Landing unique is the combination of high touch service and thoughtful design. We intentionally take on fewer clients so every itinerary gets our full attention. That means no cookie cutter templates. Whether it’s a multigenerational safari, a culinary deep dive in Italy, or a Christmas escape to New York, every trip reflects the travelers themselves.

Our strength is in our team and the operations we’ve built to support our clients. From advisors who each bring their own expertise and style, to the behind the scenes systems and team that keep our planning process seamless, we’ve created an environment where clients feel cared for at every step. It allows us to focus on both the creative and logistical sides of travel so the experience is as smooth as it is memorable.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I believed I had limits, limits to what I could do, what I could accomplish, and even limits on my worth. Growing up, the world I knew felt smaller and I thought my possibilities were too. Over time, through experience and building this business, I have let go of that belief. I now know there are no hard boundaries on what I can create or contribute, and that confidence has been one of the most freeing parts of my journey.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, books helped. They gave me an escape, a sense of comfort, and a way to imagine a bigger world than the one right in front of me. Stories became both a safe place and a source of possibility. And still do! I am still a lover of a good book.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what really matters to me is the people I love and care about, the connections I build, and living as a person of integrity. They would also say I try to be the hands and feet for others, to show up in a meaningful way. And they know that a good laugh is always at the top of the list too.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace on a rooftop somewhere, with light live music playing, a beautiful view and a soft breeze, surrounded by my friends and family. Those moments feel unhurried and complete.
