Hi Heather, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I was beyond Proud of the Cast for Winning Best of San Antonio Burlesque 2025. It was something we set our minds to do and we Conquered! The work the cast put into their Craft was nothing less than Breathe taking!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Heather King and I am the Founder and Creator of The DollHaus. The DollHaus is a mixed cast of Burlesque, Drag. But let’s definitely Not say that’s the only talents we have! We have singers, photographers, producers, teachers and Healers. We are a self contained and well oiled machine and this only our 2nd year!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before The DollHaus I was much more aggressive in business, as that’s kinda what Justus Kings was all about… pushing the Envelope.
The DollHaus I wanted to be Much different! We are now the inspiration to show you… you could do it too babes! You just need the Right support and team behind you. DollHaus has changed Toxic behaviors in Burlesque and created a Standard all our own.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I have danced since I was 2 years old and it was Coveted by my family. But when I got older is turned ugly and wasn’t a supportive world. Yet performing was Always my passion.
I decided to change the Rules of this and give people something and Feel something they never had before! You won’t be leaving your seat at our shows, I’ll tell you that for sure. Never has a Cast been given so much room to live their dreams.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That its a Toxic life. It is if you are in the wrong hands. Never should you have to alter yourself to just do your job. Never should you have to be mistreated either… to Keep a job. I’m gonna End that watch me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people will misunderstand and believe its just Dancing…. No its Freedom. Its art. Its LOVE in movement form. We put our Heart and Souls into what we do. This Isn’t a hobby for us… this is Claiming our Lives and accepting our bodies.
