Jay , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is waking up at 4:30am, make some business calls then start my morning mix at 6am Monday-Friday. Then back to making calls and booking shows until 3pm. At 3pm I start getting ready for the RUSH HOUR MIX for 4pm and I do one interview a week.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jay Reckless with THA RECKLESSTALK PODCAST , RECKLESSTALK SPORTS PODCAST, RECKLESSTALK MANAGEMENT & PROMOTIONS , A1MUSIC EMPIRE, GODS OF GRIND , HOUSTON CITY BEAT we are the story tellers of Houston.
The RECKLESSTALK Podcast is one of the top shows in the city of Houston. We do 40 shows a month including interviews with small business owners , entrepreneurs, artists from up and coming , to celebrities such as Lil Flip , Yuk mouth, Brian Angel, K-Rino and more. We also do food challenges. We have been nominated for show of the year for 2 years running and we are nominated again for the 3rd straight year by SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC AWARD SHOW.
I also host concerts, comedy shows, magic shows, festivals and more. One of my most memorable concerts ive hoster was Lil Flip, kirko Bangz, Paul Wall, Devin The Dude, afromans birthday party at the famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood California. Ive also won host of the year two years in a row and nominated for host of the year this year for the SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC AWARD SHOW December 13th and I will be hosting the award show also. I started a management company a year and a half ago where we manage some amazing artist, one being Tee phenomenon , Houston’s first comedic hip-hop artist. He did a national tour with
Afroman last summer. We also have the very talented Dusty Haze. He covers all genres of music and is making a huge name form himself. Korinne is our R&B singer who has been nominated for vocalist of the year. We also manage award winning poet/Author Sinnsual the Poet who just signed with the biggest publishing agency, turner publishing and has a book out called Love Spell.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I believed i wouldn’t amoint to anything. To be honest I felt that way even as an adult, but now that I have found my calling i truly believe I could be world wide name
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I would say being scared to fail held me back for year’s but with me knowing I have a higher purpose in this world I knew I had to use that fear and turn it into an unstoppable grind.

Yes I definitely can because I didn’t get in the industry for the praise I got in the industry to help people.It’s never been about me.
