My proudest moment was the realization that my career needed a seismic shift—a moment I truly decided to bet on myself and bring my long-held ideas into reality. Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
At my core, I’m simply the kid from Houston, Texas, with an unrelenting dream. I am Josiah Jean, “The Rocket,” and the owner of my clothing brand, Jeanrock by JJean. As a professional wrestler, I’ve progressed rapidly in under three years, a time where I’ve not only encountered my childhood heroes but also gained the privilege of learning directly from their wisdom and experience. The journey is still young, and the dream is growing bigger every day it’s the art of ambition.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
The bedrock of my work ethic comes directly from my father. He taught me the essential value of persistence, how to consistently show up for the things that truly matter, and the necessity of working with purpose. Crucially, he modeled how to carry myself with confidence—even in rooms where I was the only one who believed. His most powerful lesson was the absolute necessity of never giving up on a dream, regardless of outside doubt. Starting with nothing, my father built a business from the ground up and created a home for our family. Because of his commitment, we never lacked, and we always found a way to weather the storms that came our way.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
The confidence I possess today was forged in my younger years. Though my dream was often dismissed as far-fetched or naive by family and teachers, that young kid stubbornly refused to let go. That refusal is why I am living that dream now, and it is the fuel I use to inspire others to ignore the noise and commit fully to their own journeys. That’s the art of ambition, pushing past the noise.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Booker T not for his accolades, but for his unwavering character and commitment to mentorship. He consistently looks out for those around him, actively bringing people into his orbit to elevate their careers. To achieve such legendary status in professional wrestling and still choose to genuinely give back is a true testament to his integrity. Despite the constant negativity and noise, Booker T remains true to his core values. He is always accessible for a call or conversation, and his guidance has been invaluable, having poured into me both inside and outside the ring.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I find my deepest sense of peace and contentment when I am actively pouring effort into the things I love—whether that involves professional wrestling, growing my business, supporting my family, or investing in myself. Peace for me isn’t stillness; it’s the feeling of being exactly where I am supposed to be, fully present and putting in the work. I refuse to be stagnant. There is always a path for progress, and that relentless pursuit brings me serenity. When I enter that flow state and am fully immersed, it is the most peaceful feeling in the world.
