We recently had the chance to connect with Kaela Cherise and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaela, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When was the last time you felt true joy?
I just celebrated my 28th birthday on August 4th, and I felt the most joy during those few days of being loved on and celebrated by my friends and family. Everyone showed up for me, and I just had the most genuinely fun time. Laughing with everyone, hearing them go around and share what they love about me… it really hit me in a way I didn’t expect. I was in a season where I had started to lose sight of who Kaela is, and those words helped me remember. I needed that.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kaela Cherise, and I’m the founder and owner of KAECHE, a jewelry brand that’s all about style with substance. I just launched the Birthday Edit, which features 10 limited-edition pieces that will only be available for a short time.
KAECHE started from my love for fashion, but it’s become something much deeper. Jewelry is my favorite medium because it speaks without saying a word. It reflects who you are and who you’re becoming. That’s what makes KAECHE special. It’s not fast fashion. It’s timeless. Every piece is intentional, made to last, and designed to feel like you: confident but soft, stylish with meaning. Whether you’re getting something custom or curated, I want it to feel like it was made for your moment.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’m gonna have to go with people pleasing. As much as I speak my mind and try my best to take no stuff, there are still parts of me that quietly crave acceptance. Parts that want to show up the way I think the world expects me to, instead of showing up fully as myself. I never want to disappoint people, even though I know that’s impossible. I’ve realized that comes from my deep love for peace. I used to think the best way to keep the peace was to keep everyone happy, but I’m starting to understand that my happiness matters most.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Getting it wrong. Anything. I have a habit of freezing. Like, I’ll just stop. I’d rather give up than get it wrong. I’m slowly getting better at that. A lot of it comes from feeling like I’m not good enough or not capable of certain things. And honestly, I can’t even always detect where those thoughts come from. I’ve just been scared of failing big, and that fear has definitely held me back. Sometimes I look back on things I felt like I should’ve done and wonder how far I’d be if I wasn’t so scared.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
God. I love God so much. I love Jesus so much. Without Him, I would be nothing. I would have nothing. I would feel nothing. I grew up in church, and as I got older, I began to study for myself and develop my own relationship with Him. There’s nothing in this world more important to me than my relationship with God. Matthew 6:33 speaks on how if we seek Him first, everything else will be added to us. I hold that very close to my heart because it’s real. I’ve experienced that truth.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
This question is so deep, wow. The truth? I don’t know. Validation definitely feels good. Without a reaction to what I’m doing my best on, it would be hard to know if it’s even good or if I’m just being biased. I lean on my community for validation…I can’t lie. I’m always texting my mom, sister, or best friends looking for the green light.
But thank you for asking this, because answering it made me realize I need to work on that. I shouldn’t give my best just to be validated. I should give my best because I deserve to live my best life, no matter who’s watching. Y’all really ate with this one.
