Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabiola Moreno Cairo.
Hi Fabiola, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Since I was little I have loved the world of modeling and the fashion industry, but of course, being in my country I never had the possibility, the skills, or the necessary tools to get ahead. I am Cuban, I was born and raised there and I came to the United States only 10 months ago.
Since I arrived I decided that here I was going to fight for my dream of being a model, in addition to looking for modeling agencies, I did castings and thus looked for a way to develop my skills professionally. After taking my professional training, collaborations and many photographers interested in me began to arrive and in this way, I have been growing little by little and I am where I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Through the short time I have as a model, I think my biggest obstacle has been the fact of being a foreigner, the culture shock I had when I arrived, the language, and having my family and friends far away have been difficult.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Until now I consider myself a commercial model, so I dedicate myself to campaigns and promotions, having a catwalk is something that I love but I continue working on it. I’m really proud to see how far I’ve come in such a short time.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I really don’t see myself as a person who takes risks and until now I haven’t had the need to take them either.
Regarding my work, I am very careful when choosing, many times I usually opt for the safe things that I already know and do not throw myself into the unknown because the truth is that you don’t know who could be behind all that, the world of modeling is something very shady at times and you have to be very careful.
