Today we’d like to introduce you to Imene Guerrero.
Hi Imene, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story grew from a love of cars and the connections they create. Over time, that passion became something bigger: helping build a community where people can come together, support one another, and share what they love.
Alongside my husband, Jorge, I’ve helped grow HTXCorvettes into more than a car group. I work on operations, events, partnerships, media, and the many details that bring our ideas to life. We’ve created opportunities for car owners, local businesses, artists, vendors, and community organizations to connect. I’m especially proud of helping create space for women to take visible leadership roles in a scene where they haven’t always been represented.
The journey has included big goals, long days, unexpected challenges, and plenty of lessons. Each experience has taught me to keep learning, speak up for what I believe in, and stay focused on the people we’re trying to serve. I’ve learned that building something meaningful takes persistence, teamwork, and a willingness to keep going when the process gets difficult.
Today, I’m continuing to help grow HTXCorvettes and its creative and community projects. I want our work to bring people together, give others a chance to shine, and show that when a community supports one another, everyone can have a place at the table.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Building a community and putting on events takes a lot of work behind the scenes: coordinating people, managing details, working within a budget, and adapting when plans change. Sometimes the effort people see on event day is only a small part of everything it took to get there.
I’ve also had to learn how to handle criticism and different expectations while staying focused on why I started: bringing people together and creating something meaningful for the community. There have been moments that tested my patience and confidence, but those experiences have taught me to communicate clearly, set boundaries, and keep moving forward.
The challenges have made me more resilient and more thoughtful about the kind of community I want to help build. I’m still learning with every project, and I’m proud that even when things get difficult, I continue showing up and finding a way forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I wear a lot of hats in the Houston car community. I help lead the operations and growth of HTXCorvettes, where I work on event planning, logistics, partnerships, promotion, and the behind-the-scenes work that turns ideas into real experiences.
I’m also involved in the creative side. Through FFCorvettesMedia, I create music and media content connected to the car scene. I work on flyers, visuals, promotional content, and branding that help bring our events and projects to life. I enjoy building an idea from the beginning and seeing it become something people can hear, watch, share, and show up for.
I’m proud that my work isn’t limited to one title or one lane. I can help plan an event, coordinate the details, create the promotional materials, and contribute to the creative direction. I’m hands-on, I speak plainly, and I care about making the final result feel like us.
What sets me apart is that I don’t wait around for someone else to create the opportunities or the content I want to see. I take an idea, put in the work, and keep building. I want our community to have a strong voice, original creative work, and events that bring people together.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson? Watch what people do, not what they say. I’ve learned to put things in writing, protect my work, and stop giving unlimited access to people who haven’t earned my trust.
Not everyone will support your vision, and I’m done waiting for permission or approval. I’ll take the lesson, fix what needs fixing, and keep moving. That’s how I operate.
