Montinique , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is really a story of faith, resilience, restoration, and purpose.
I didn’t start out knowing exactly what my purpose was. Like many people, I experienced seasons where life didn’t go according to plan. I faced setbacks, uncertainty, disappointment, and moments when I questioned what God was doing in my life. But through every season, I’ve learned to hold on to Jeremiah 29:11, which reminds us that God has plans for us—plans for a future and a hope.
One of the most difficult seasons of my life came when I unexpectedly lost my job. I spent months unemployed, and even my unemployment claim was denied. As a mother of three, that season brought financial pressure, uncertainty, and moments where I honestly didn’t know how everything was going to work out.
But God was still working.
“We walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
There were things I couldn’t see yet, but I had to trust that God was working behind the scenes.
My professional background is in healthcare, specifically provider credentialing and enrollment. I had spent years building my career, working remotely, and developing expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, provider enrollment, credentialing, compliance, and healthcare operations.
During that season, I had to remind myself that losing a job didn’t mean losing my purpose or my value.
I kept applying. I kept believing. I kept praying. And eventually, God opened another door.
Today, I’m back working full-time remotely in healthcare as a Credentialing Coordinator and earning close to six figures. What once felt like one of the biggest setbacks of my life became part of the testimony I now use to encourage others.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28
That experience became part of the foundation for Purpose 2 Profession.
I created Purpose 2 Profession because I know what it feels like to question your professional worth, apply for jobs and not hear back, experience a career setback, and wonder what you’re supposed to do next.
I wanted to create a platform that helps people recognize their value, communicate their experience, strengthen their résumés, prepare for interviews, and confidently pursue their next opportunity.
But my journey isn’t only about my career.
My faith is at the center of everything I do. There was also a season when I realized I needed to get back into position spiritually. I had to be honest with God about where I had fallen short and understand that speaking about Christ doesn’t mean I am perfect.
I am a prodigal child of the King—saved by grace, still growing, and still being refined.
That realization became part of the heart behind Souled Out for Christ.
Through Souled Out for Christ, I share Bible-based encouragement, prayers, devotionals, and reminders that God’s grace is greater than our mistakes. My goal is to encourage people to draw closer to Jesus, examine their hearts, surrender what is holding them back, and remember that God is not finished with them.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36
I don’t share from a place of perfection. I share from a place of testimony.
I’ve had to repent. I’ve had to start over. I’ve had to surrender. I’ve had to trust God when I couldn’t understand the process. And I’ve learned that God’s grace is sufficient even when we fall short.
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
Today, my personal brand, Nique in Grace, brings these pieces of my story together.
Souled Out for Christ represents my faith and my desire to help people reconnect with God.
Purpose 2 Profession represents my professional journey and my desire to help people turn career setbacks into career growth.
And my testimony connects them both.
I’ve learned that purpose isn’t always revealed on the mountaintop. Sometimes it’s revealed in the valley.
The season I thought was taking everything from me was actually preparing me for something greater.
I went from unemployment, uncertainty, and having doors closed in my face to rebuilding my career, stepping into entrepreneurship, creating resources to help others, and using my testimony to encourage people spiritually and professionally.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6
I am still becoming.
I am still growing.
I am still being refined.
I am still walking by faith.
But now I understand something I didn’t fully understand before:
My setbacks didn’t destroy my purpose. God used them to reveal it.
And if my story can remind even one person that their current season isn’t the end of their story, then every difficult season was worth walking through.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has It Been a Smooth Road?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. There have been seasons where I felt like I was doing everything I could and still couldn’t see a way forward.
One of the hardest seasons was when I unexpectedly lost my job. I was a mother of three, dealing with the responsibilities of providing for my family, and suddenly I was navigating unemployment, financial uncertainty, and the disappointment of having my unemployment claim denied. There were moments when I questioned myself, my abilities, and even wondered, “God, what are You doing?”
But that season taught me how to trust God when I couldn’t see the outcome.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
I also experienced personal struggles, setbacks, and seasons where I had to take a hard look at myself spiritually. There were times when I wasn’t where I needed to be with God. I had to acknowledge where I had fallen short, repent, and allow God to work on my heart.
I’ve learned that you can encourage other people about God and still be someone who needs grace, correction, and growth yourself. I’m not perfect. I’m a woman who has made mistakes, experienced difficult seasons, and had to find my way back to God.
“The righteous man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.” — Proverbs 24:16
Another challenge was learning not to allow my circumstances to define my identity. Being unemployed didn’t make me unsuccessful. Experiencing rejection didn’t mean I wasn’t qualified. Having difficult seasons didn’t mean God had forgotten me.
Eventually, another door opened. I returned to healthcare, became a Credentialing Coordinator, continued building my professional career, and began turning the lessons from my struggles into something that could help other people through Purpose 2 Profession.
At the same time, my faith journey led me to create Souled Out for Christ, where I can openly share the very things God has been teaching me about grace, repentance, spiritual growth, and walking with Christ.
Looking back, I wouldn’t call those seasons easy—but I can call them necessary.
They taught me resilience. They taught me humility. They taught me patience. Most importantly, they taught me that God can still be working even when life looks completely opposite of what you prayed for.

So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But every struggle has added another chapter to my testimony.
Today, I can look back and say: I didn’t understand the process while I was in it, but I can see God’s hand in it now.
And that’s one of the biggest reasons I share my story. I want people to know that a setback is not a sentence, a closed door is not the end, and a difficult season does not mean God is finished with you.

My Work & What Sets Me Apart
My work is centered around one thing: helping people move forward—professionally, personally, and spiritually.
Professionally, I work full-time in healthcare as a Credentialing Coordinator, with a background in provider credentialing, enrollment, compliance, and healthcare operations. I specialize in helping ensure healthcare providers are properly credentialed and enrolled so they can do what they were called to do—care for patients. Over the years, I’ve developed experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payors, CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, and other healthcare credentialing and enrollment systems.
But my work extends beyond my professional career.
I am also the founder of Purpose 2 Profession, a career-focused platform created to help professionals turn their experience and career setbacks into opportunities. I specialize in résumé strategy, ATS optimization, interview preparation, career positioning, and helping job seekers communicate their value with confidence.
Purpose 2 Profession was born out of my own experience. I know what it feels like to experience a career setback, lose a job, face rejection, and wonder what comes next. I also know what it feels like to rebuild. My own journey—from being unemployed and having my unemployment denied to returning to healthcare and earning close to six figures—showed me that a setback doesn’t have to determine your future.
I’m also the founder of Souled Out for Christ, a faith-based platform where I share biblical encouragement, prayers, devotionals, and real conversations about walking with Jesus. I talk openly about grace, repentance, spiritual growth, healing, obedience, and what it means to pursue God while still being a work in progress.
What I think sets me apart is that I don’t teach from a place of perfection—I lead from experience.
I’ve been the person searching for a job. I’ve been the person questioning my worth. I’ve been the person who had to start over. I’ve also been the person who had to acknowledge that I wasn’t where I needed to be spiritually and make the decision to get back in alignment with God.
Those experiences allow me to connect with people on a deeper level.
I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to take some of my hardest seasons and turn them into something that can help somebody else. Instead of allowing my setbacks to become the end of my story, I decided to let God use them as part of my testimony.

I’m proud of the woman I’ve become through every season—not because I’ve done everything perfectly, but because I’ve learned to keep going, keep growing, and keep trusting God.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief:
Your setback doesn’t cancel your purpose.
