Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Tadross.
Hi Rachel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a ’90s baby, I grew up with film cameras, capturing everyday moments and learning to appreciate the beauty of photographs long before digital photography entered my world. When I was 15, I received my first digital camera, which sparked an even deeper passion for documenting the people and moments that matter most. Over the years, that passion has grown into something much more than a hobby. It has become a creative outlet, while pursuing my lifelong goal of being a stay-at-home mom.
As a Houston newborn photographer, my goal is to provide a relaxed, thoughtful, and luxurious photography experience in the comfort of your own home. I have two young children myself, so I understand how fleeting the newborn stage can be. This is why my business is focused on documenting natural moments in parenthood for families to gain their own family heirlooms.
My photography style blends the timeless character of film with the versatility of digital photography, creating imagery that feels soft, natural, and full of nostalgia. I am drawn to the subtle details, genuine connections, and quiet in-between moments that often become the most meaningful memories over time. From the delicate features of your newborn to the way you instinctively hold them close, I strive to preserve the details and emotions that make this season of life uniquely yours.
I take the time to understand each family’s personality, preferences, and vision so that every session feels personal and thoughtfully tailored to them. My goal is never to create images that feel overly posed or forced, but rather to capture the natural beauty of your family as you are in this season of life. I want you to feel comfortable, connected, and fully present, knowing that the little moments you may not even realize are happening are being preserved with care.
I am also a firm believer that your photographs deserve more than a place on your phone or social media. Your memories deserve to be held, displayed, shared, and revisited for years to come. That is why I offer handcrafted heirloom photo albums, thoughtfully designed to bring your family’s story to life in a tangible and lasting way. Each album is created to become a meaningful part of your family’s history, something you can sit down and enjoy with your children today and pass along to them as they grow older.
At the heart of my work is the belief that the most meaningful photographs become more valuable with time. The newborn days may feel like a blur, and the tiny details you never want to forget will change before you know it. My hope is to give you more than beautiful images. I want to create an experience that allows you to slow down and appreciate this season, along with timeless artwork that brings you back to these memories long after the moment has passed. It is an honor to document these milestones for Houston families, and I approach every session with the intention of creating something truly meaningful, personal, and lasting.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing a client base and establishing a strong presence in the photography industry takes time, dedication, and consistency. While I understand that building a business is a process, starting over and rebuilding the clientele I once had can sometimes feel overwhelming and frustrating. Having previously established a business, I know firsthand the commitment and effort it takes to create something meaningful, and beginning that journey again has challenged me in ways I didn’t necessarily anticipate.
However, I also recognize that stepping away from my business was the right decision for me and my family at that time. Choosing to slow down, grow my family, and focus on my babies during those precious early years was an investment in something far more important than business growth. I will always be grateful that I had the opportunity to prioritize my children.
Now, I feel ready and motivated to dedicate that same passion, creativity, and determination to rebuilding my business. My goals extend beyond simply growing my clientele or establishing my name in the industry again. I want to create something sustainable that allows me to pursue the work I love while also contributing to my family’s future and creating greater opportunities for my children.
This new chapter is about more than returning to something I once loved. It’s about growing into the business owner I want to become, creating something I can be proud of, and building a future that benefits not only me but also the children who inspired me to begin again.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the owner and photographer behind Pure Noor, specializing in luxury in-home newborn and family lifestyle photography throughout Houston and the surrounding areas. My work focuses on documenting the beauty of early motherhood, the excitement of welcoming a new baby, and the everyday connections that make a family unique. I believe the most meaningful photographs aren’t necessarily the perfectly posed ones, but the images that capture how a season of life truly felt.
I bring the entire photography experience to my clients’ homes, allowing families to remain in their own comfortable environment during those precious early weeks with a newborn. Rather than relying on elaborate props or heavily posed setups, I focus on genuine interactions, quiet moments, and the love shared between parents and their children.
One of the things I am most passionate about is creating a personalized experience for every family I photograph. As a mother myself, I understand how quickly children grow and how overwhelming those early days of parenthood can feel. I want my clients to feel comfortable being themselves, without the pressure of having a perfectly clean home, perfectly behaved children, or perfectly coordinated moments. I welcome the beautiful chaos of family life because I believe those imperfect, in-between moments often become the most treasured memories.
Inclusivity is also an important part of my approach. Through my previous experience working with neurodivergent individuals and people with special needs, I understand that connection and affection look different for every person. I strive to create an environment where children and parents feel safe, respected, and comfortable expressing their love in their own ways. My goal is to meet families where they are and create meaningful photographs without forcing interactions or expectations that don’t feel natural to them.
What truly sets Pure Noor apart is my commitment to preserving these memories beyond the digital gallery. Every collection includes a handcrafted luxury heirloom album, thoughtfully designed to tell each family’s story in a tangible, lasting way. I believe photographs should be held, shared and passed down. My hope is that these albums will become treasured family keepsakes, allowing children to grow up seeing the love that surrounded them from the very beginning.
I am most proud of the opportunity to combine my lifelong passion for photography with my perspective as a mother. Photography has been a part of my life since childhood, beginning with film cameras and growing into a creative pursuit that allows me to preserve meaningful moments for other families. Building a business around something so personal is incredibly rewarding, especially knowing that the artwork I create may become part of a family’s legacy for generations.
Ultimately, I want Pure Noor to be known for more than beautiful images. I want families to remember how they felt during their experience: cared for, understood, comfortable, and fully present with the people they love most. My mission is to create timeless artwork that celebrates the beauty of raising children, honors the individuality of every family, and preserves the fleeting moments that become more precious with time.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
One of the things I appreciate most about Houston is its incredible diversity. I enjoy being surrounded by people from different cultural backgrounds and experiencing the wide variety of cuisines, traditions, and perspectives that the city has to offer. I am passionate about learning about new cultures and languages because I believe these experiences help broaden my understanding of the world and allow me to connect with people from different walks of life. Houston’s multicultural environment makes it a vibrant, welcoming, and enriching place to live. If I had one complaint, however, it would be the traffic!
