Today we’d like to introduce you to Tajhe Bell.
Hi Tajhe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out playing with my sister with Barbie’s then my aunt noticed my passion and skills so she bought me a mannequin. After the mannequin I started doing my older brothers hair for school and he was my only client at age 7/8. Always had a passion for art so I treat hair like a canvas and create my masterpiece. I got locs when I was a sophomore in college an started to do my own hair and once I realized how good I was at locs I started doing my friends hair who had Locs and it always came out really good. Then one day I lost my job at dicks and was wondering what I could do as a trade to make some income My bestfriend at the time now my lover said I should do her hair so she trusted me over her loctician and never has left my chair since. She posted it on her Facebook and got a lot of likes the CEO of Knotty Xpressions who was my neighbor growing up reached out on her post wanting to hire me from there I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life which is better all my crafts which is Hair, Music & Fashion. I am now currently located at Pearland Town Center at a shop called “ A Shaving Grace Barbershop” I can’t wait to see my business flourish I now also have my DBA and my company is called “Twistedd 2 Tha T”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it has not been a smooth ride at all. Some of the main struggles I usually faced is slow clientele and at the first shop I worked at I was timed to do a retwist and I didn’t like to rush my perfection I love to take my time and twist every strand to the T.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do braids on kids as well as adults. Also specialize in all things Locs which is loc maintenance, Starter locs, Interlock , Crochet work, detox and all types of styles. I am known for my great customer service as well as my neat parts on a head it was a struggle to get to perfecting parts. I am most proud of the fact I do have a business under my name and I have ownership of my own company and I get better and better each retwists I do. That’s what sets me apart is my timely manner and my clean and crisp parts.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice would be to just get out there and jump out on faith and God will catch you and send blessings your way to acquire your goals and dreams. i wish I knew a better way to bring in more clientele faster but I am learning as I go
