Meet Alexandra and Donna Rich of RichGirl’s Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra and Donna Rich.

Donna decided to quit her full-time job and open a women’s clothing boutique. She asked her daughter, Alex, who was in her last year of college if she wanted to help her open a boutique. Once Alex agreed, they started selling clothes right from their own home in 2015. A few months later they decided it was getting a little crowded in their home for a store so they decided to start small and signed a lease in a small salon building. Within 6 months, they outgrew that and opened an actual storefront in Pearland, TX in April 2016. They just celebrated their 2 years of being open in April and could not have done any of this without the constant support from their family and friends.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Neither, Donna nor Alex had any experience in retail so it has definitely been a learning experience from when we opened the store to now. We are still learning and evolving and I think as a business owner you have to be.

RichGirl’s Boutique – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a family owned business and when we first opened we knew the vibe we wanted here when people walked in is a “homey” feeling. We even have a little sitting area with a fireplace for our customers to sit and enjoy themselves. Retail therapy is definitely a thing and we take pride in making it as comfortable, friendly and welcoming when you are here. And I think that’s what sets us apart.

We aren’t your typical chain store nor are we your typical small business. We take pride in our customers/employees and their needs. We don’t just want to sell our clothes and make money. We want to help make our customers feel confident and beautiful in their own body. That’s the most rewarding part of my job and what we do. Since opening RGB we have made so many lifelong friends through our customers/employees and we couldn’t be more thankful God gave us this opportunity.

I specialize in keeping this business up and running and growing. I’m always doing research on the next big thing to do to keep us apart from others. I want to be known for standing out. I think that’s the point of boutiques. They’re supposed to be different and unique. They’re a place where you can walk into somewhere and find something you can’t find anywhere else.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is being able to make a life out of doing what you love.

Just want to say that I am so proud of my daughter Donna and granddaughter Alex. They have been very successful in their dreams. Hope they continue going out of their way to please their customers. I am a great grandma and always find clothes that I like and can wear for my age. They have all sizes and beautiful styles. Congratulations to my daughter and granddaughter. Your dad and I love you girls very much.
