Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Mayo.
Hi Alyssa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my art career back in 2014, I was 18 years old, when I thought I was but a model/actress and nothing else due to poor surroundings and beliefs built around strict parenting. I am now a 30 year old woman who took all of that and always used every situation and opportunity to try and bring people together through Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, and Responsibility. I started by trying to prove I could make it as a model to my father because I wanted to be one from a young age amongst MANY other things. Well that quickly spiralled to lots of fashion, Editorial, commercial, and acting in tv shows, movies, and music videos. I also quickly hit a wall of “I am more than just these things” because I always wanted to do stuff that had meaning. In my personal life I research and do spiritual work and dissect culture, philosophy, poetry, art, and theoretical everything really. I started doing Nude Fine art after awhile of modeling knowing I also wanted to show people like the sculptors did in Rome that the human form is beautiful. I helped a few people win different art awards and have been seen in art exhibits in the Czech Republic as well as as actual wall sized paintings by Don Bodine who is inspired by Rodin. I loved working with renowned artist David Edmondson who taught me about Rembrandt lighting brought to photography. I wound up working on Taylor Sheridan’s show 1883 with the best crew I’ve ever gotten to work with. This actually lead me to helping produce an award winning short film about human trafficking in 2022. Since then I have really just been focused on art pieces, flow artistry, writing poetry and music, and not being so focused on being online. Now I am actually writing and putting together two books and selling art pieces while doing spirit work and focusing on my direct community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been more of a struggle than most ever realize. I believe we are in the time in society where we need more strong voices to come forward to connect and communicate properly for the betterment of humanity. I actually have just been making it by my whole career and life really. In this world we all live in and endure we are all just making it by except those in the top 1%. I am truly just a struggling artist hoping to find my tribe of artistic flowing gremoblins as I make new strides to write more music and flow more with my painting blindfolded and earmuffed. I guess all of that is to say, yes of course, I’m just as human as the next person or so some believe. I am just appreciative of the artists along the way and any and all work or projects I get to be a part of. Truly blessed to be a spiritual woman on an artistic journey to help others love and accept themselves and others as their unique realities.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do believe everyone boils themselves down to so little in this society that doesn’t want free thinkers. Most people would tell you they know me from online modeling or acting stuff. I would say I am actually a creative producer in every category as well as a flow artist, painter, poet, and theorist. My best friend would tell you I am a walking encyclopedia as well as a sage/oracle because everyone comes to me and asks questions and gets answers. I am actually secretly most proud of helping produce the short film Americana and helping a little girl land her first acting role after being a background actress with her family on the Tv series 1883. I think what sets me apart if we have to segregate ourselves based on human language is that I don’t allow other to stop me from speaking up and out anymore after hard relationships and life dynamics. If I want to do something because I think it will help someone I am going to do that but I only ever base that decision off of praying and asking for guidance on every situation or project sent my way. I think painting blindfolded and with earmuffs to vibrations of music and doing baton and flags has taught me that we all flow in our own ways and we should be able to be and live in a world that reflects that but we still live in archaic ways in most areas of the world.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I actually do not believe in luck because I have always lived my life since being a child with the belief and understanding that everything happens for a reason because we all have a path and those paths intertwine with other paths to make a web and that is how we are all and have always been connected. I have always understood if I work hard I get good outcomes. If something seems like luck it was probably just good Karma from something you previously did and vice versa for bad Karma and bad things happening. In other words if you play dumb games you win dumb prizes and if you play cool games you get cool prizes. I only know this to be true from years of doing stuff in life and learning human and nature’s patterns. I also know if something isn’t meant for you no matter how much you may want it you won’t wind up with it because the universe doesn’t conspire against us.
