Meet Ashton Koontz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashton Koontz.

Hi Ashton, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Ashton Koontz — a creative, model, stylist, and storyteller with a passion for fashion, beauty, and visual expression. I’ve always been drawn to the art of creating — whether that’s in front of the camera modeling, behind the chair styling hair, putting together a look, creating imagery, or bringing a brand’s vision to life.

My creative journey has never been one straight path. I’ve explored different sides of the industry and allowed myself to evolve along the way, and I think that’s what makes my perspective so personal. I’m constantly inspired by fashion, beauty, culture, people, and the way a strong visual can make you feel something.

For me, creativity is more than making something beautiful. It’s about identity, confidence, storytelling, and creating a world that feels like you. I want everything I create — whether it’s a look, an image, a campaign, or a moment — to feel intentional, authentic, and memorable.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has been learning how to quiet my own inner critic. I’ve always been a perfectionist, and sometimes I can be my own worst critic. I’ll look at something I’ve created and immediately focus on what I could have done better instead of allowing myself to appreciate how far I’ve come.

Self-doubt has also been a big part of my journey. There have been moments where I’ve questioned whether I’m good enough, talented enough, or even on the right path. When you’re constantly putting your creativity, appearance, and ideas out into the world, it can be easy to compare yourself to everyone else and feel like you’re falling behind.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is rooted in fashion, beauty, and visual storytelling. I work across modeling, hair styling, creative direction, styling, and content creation, always looking for ways to bring an idea to life visually. I love being able to move between being in front of the camera and behind the scenes creating the vision.

I’m especially passionate about hair and personal style because I believe the way you present yourself can completely change how you feel. I love creating looks that feel elevated but still personal — whether that’s through hair, fashion, or the overall visual direction of a project.

I think I’m most known for having a strong eye for aesthetics and for constantly evolving my own image and creative identity. I’m not afraid to reinvent myself or experiment with different sides of creativity, and that willingness to evolve is something I’m really proud of.

What I’m most proud of is simply how far I’ve come. I’ve had to figure a lot of things out on my own, push through self-doubt, and learn to trust my creative instincts. I’m proud that I’ve continued creating even when I didn’t feel completely confident in myself.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
think the quality that has been most important to my success is my willingness to keep going and keep evolving. I’ve never had a completely straight path, and there have been plenty of moments where I’ve doubted myself or questioned whether I was making the right decisions. But I’ve always found a way to keep moving forward.

I’m also incredibly driven. When I care about something, I become fully invested in it. I’m constantly learning, experimenting, and pushing myself to become better — even when that means stepping outside of my comfort zone.

I’ve learned that success isn’t always about being the most talented person in the room. Sometimes it’s about being the person who is willing to keep showing up, take the risk, learn from mistakes, and believe in themselves even before everyone else does. That mindset has carried me through every chapter of my journey.
