Aubrey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My former employer Verizon Wireless moved me to the Houston Area on Sept 11, 2001. Being employed as an Area Manager for Verizon Wireless. Being involved with the Wireless Industry since 1992 (yea think old 3 watt bag and Motorola’s Brick phones lol) and watching it grow from its infancy of Analog into Digital and on to the Smart Phone Social Media Age that we live in today.
In 2007 we decided to take our love of our special saving build a home and to give other special families a chance to experience our love and joy of an almost as old as time itself breed The Maltese. After adopting a Victoria Shih Tzu we were fortunate enough to discover the Rare and Beautiful Designer Breed MalShi (Pure Breed Maltese & Pure Breed Shih Tzu)
That’s when we came up with the idea of starting our very own puppy adoption program. Deciding to Call our Venture of Love PERFECT PAW PUPS thus becoming A MalShi Puppy Extraordinaire.
Our Mission Statement is to Welcome, Maltese and MalShi fanciers and fellow doggie Lovers into the Perfect Paw Pups Family through interviewed adoptions. We are a family devoted to the breeding of Purebred Maltese Puppies and the Designer Cross with the Purebred Shih-Tzu dogs creating our very own Beautiful MalShi Puppy lineages.
Our Perfect Paws Pups strive in a very clean and comfortable in-home dog breeding program where they are lovingly developed in a very nurturing and “never caged” environment. Our Motto is More Wag Less Bark.
At Perfect Paw Pups our dogs are a very special part of our family and from time to time our little ones have little ones of their own. When that happens we make them available for adopting* to similarly loving, caring and comfortable homes and families.
Once a family match is found those perfect families get watch their new baby from birth until family pick up day via our facebook.com/perfectpawpups page that’s where all the other Perfect Moms and Families can share watch learn and hopefully decided that our loving environment is where they want to adopt their next furry family member.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When our 1st litter was born in 2007 we decided that we had to find them homes as special as the one they were leaving. Our Very first litter were Two Purebreed Maltese Pups born to Prince Maxximus and Princess Fiona. As I recall we must have interviewed something like 35 People before we found our first couple of Perfect Moms.
As 4 years pass we added to our family another Pure Breed Maltese Prince Gizmo and Three Pure Breed Shih Tzu Princess Moni Luv, Princess Lady Luv and Princess Aggie Luv.
In 2007 we developed our website leading to our 1st introduction to a world far outside of our normal interviewee location area. Our growth on the World Wide Web was slow but trending in the right direction helping our to compile a database of other families that were interested in discovering this rare designer breed but had a hard time finding a Breeder that they could believe in.
In 2011 we reached even further and we started our facebook.com/perfectpawpups business page hoping to create a better way to involve our new Perfect Moms and Families into the day to day growth of their new babies all while developing a place where other may discover us by word of share.
Watching the slow but growing base of LIKES growing from 5 to 50 to 500 to the 3300 followers and learning to market our potential future adopted babies without the added cost of the traditional old expensive ways of reaching a potentially new base of the type of moms parents and families that we sought for our new borns.
Now we typically have homes for all our babies within the first few days after their birth and the families get very unique priceless moments that most puppy parents don’t they get to watch they baby grow every day from 1st meal with mom, the first opening their eyes, their first steps all the way to the parents first day of visitation straight through Family Pickup Day.
Perfect Paw Pups – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Perfect Paw Pups is a small home-based dog breeder program of registered Purebred Maltese, Purebred Shih Tzu and the F1 Designer Breed MalShi Puppies. All of our Perfect Paw Pups are bred with our love and devotion to these beautiful breeds. We strive for excellence in the breeding and raising of these precious family members. We breed for Quality, Beauty, Health and Temperament.
We are devoted to the breeding of Purebred Maltese dogs crossed with the Purebred Shih-Tzu dogs to create the Beautiful MalShi lineages. They share in our home and lives. Our Perfect Paws Pups live in a very clean and comfortable in-home dog breeding program they live in a very loving and “never caged” environment. We Breed F1 Hybrid MalShi Puppies With Love & Devotion
In genetics, a hybrid that is the result from two distinctly different parent breeds is called a first filial generation hybrid, or an F1 hybrid. In terms of a Malshi puppy, an F1 hybrid is a Malshi whose parents are a Purebred Maltese dog and a Purebred Shih-Tzu dog. An F1 Malshi puppy could then be bred with either another F1 Malshi dog, a Purebred Maltese dog or a Purebred Shih-Tzu dog and the result would still technically be a Malshi puppy, but a 2nd Generation Malshi puppy.
We Strive to put Service 1st for all of our potential new parents, answering any and all questions alleviating any apprehensions the new parents might have about and their first few days and nights together.
We will be giving new parents a free month of Pet Health Care for the first 30 days after baby delivery, with that the new Parents can take advantage of great some Vet Care without the worry of the added cost that’s normally associated with a First Vet visit while having the option of continuing the Pet Health Care after the 30 days.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me happens when our Perfect Moms and Dads provide us with word of mouth business referrals because we are hoping to reach a group of Animal Pet Lovers and not so much as the Animal Pet Owners because I see them as two totally different groups of Pet people.
Success comes on many different levels for us I define success as matching our beautiful pups with a perfect family that understands the important role that the new parents will play in their new loved ones.
Success comes when every baby in every Litter has found their perfect forever homes.
