Today we’d like to introduce you to DeJah McCoy.
DeJah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness. I ran track most of my life and was always labeled the “fit friend” of all my social groups. Naturally, corporate America introduced itself to my life and quickly became my main focus. Over the last ten years, I have had the pleasure of making my employers’ dreams come to life, managing venues such as The Ace, Freehand, and The Standard Hotels. Over this time, Ive learned how to start, run, and maintain a successful business and yet had not one asset of my own.
Perfect Fit was born in February 2020 during a very unsettling time for the world. Ironically, I had it all figured out! I turned lemons into lemonade and created my dream job! I run this!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
From the outside looking in, Im sure it looks like we are cruising down easy street and our grass is super green. Thats what it’s supposed to look like!! Having a background in hospitality truly allows me to wear multiple hats with little to no sweat. I’ve always been taught to act as a swan. From the surface, the swan glides in the pond as if being carried by the Lord himself, but just below the surface, you will see the swan’s legs never stop moving! This is how I live my life, its the part of my company’s mission statement. I tell all of my employees, “We need that swan energy today”!
Has it been a smooth road? No. With COVID out to get us all, it has been extremely difficult to obtain products from oversees. Shipping companies are a pain. I mean, I could go on and on. That said, this time of quarantine has been a blessing. The universe literally said, “Hey, take this year to work on your business, we’ll stall, don’t worry.”

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success in my eyes, is the ultimate flex. I feel like it is defined differently by the way you grow up and how you view society. I grew up in the streets on Los Angeles, CA. It was truth-telling to see the happiest people from the “hood” on the bus stops and just 10 minutes away someone driving a Maserati complaining about their problems. My vision of success is having financial freedom and being surrounded by unconditional love.
Financial Freedom for me is not having to ask permission to use my time or money. Unconditional love is just that, love without conditions. Literally, the ultimate flex for me. We are almost there, people!
