Dr. Pranav, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is rooted right here in Houston. I’m a native Houstonian, born and raised, and proud to have grown up in the same city I now have the opportunity to serve. I attended Bellaire High School, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston, and went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in the Texas Medical Center. Today, I’m a Houston dentist and the owner of Modena Dentistry & Orthodontics, serving patients in Champion Forest, Willowbrook, and the surrounding North Houston communities.
I built the practice with a simple goal: to create a five star dental experience where patients feel genuinely cared for, listened to, and confident in the treatment they receive. Our patient reviews consistently reflect the things that matter most to us: gentle and thorough dental care, clear explanations, a friendly and nonjudgmental environment, and helping patients with dental anxiety feel comfortable. For me, dentistry is about more than teeth. It is about building relationships, earning trust, and helping people achieve healthier, more confident smiles.
Over time, I’ve come to believe that some of the most important work we can do is simply be of service to others. For me, that means supporting my team, encouraging the people around me, and taking exceptional care of every patient who walks through our doors. I want people to feel they are treated with patience, respect, and genuine concern for their wellbeing, not simply as another appointment on the schedule. If patients leave feeling genuinely cared for and more confident about their oral health, then I feel like we are doing something meaningful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance building a dental practice with being a single dad to two young boys. There are only so many hours in a day, and it has forced me to become much more intentional about where I put my time and energy. My boys have also changed the way I look at success. Building something meaningful matters to me, but so does being present for the people who matter most.
I have also gone through a major transformation in my own health, losing more than 160 pounds. That experience taught me that you do not have to change everything overnight. You just have to start, stay consistent, and keep going. I share that because I hope it encourages someone else who may feel overwhelmed by how far they have to go. Whether it is your health, your career, or something else you want to change, progress is possible one decision at a time.

I would encourage people not to put off taking care of themselves. Whether it is their health, their confidence, or something they have been avoiding for years, taking that first step is often the hardest part.
