Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Rachel Foreman.
Dentistry at Artysan Lane is the culmination of the “Art of Dentistry and the Practice of Dental Health care.”
The office had its Grand Opening on October 22, 2016.
The Dental Office is a Private Practice, and was established by Dr. Foreman.
She was born and raised in Houston, TX; and attended the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX, graduating with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
Dr. Foreman wanted to create a Dental Practice that provided a comforting environment for patients of all ages, and gave patients access to a comprehensive range of dentistry; from Family Dentistry, to Oral Surgery, to Cosmetic Dentistry.
The concept of the Dental Office that she embraced, was a “Neighborhood Practice” that patients in the surrounding areas could conveniently visit, and feel comfortable to visit.
The choice to locate the practice on Texas Parkway in Missouri City/Stafford Area, was a conscious one, to give access to healthcare to a broad and diverse range of patients, from Private Pay, to PPO Insurance Patients, to Medicaid and Medicare Patients (children and adults).
The Dental Office was designed to be relaxing and inviting- (a concept that challenges the usual perception of the dental office). The intention to address dental patient anxiety was infused into every aspect of the dental office, from the design of the Patient Waiting Room and Children’s Play Area, to the use of Soft Lighting in the Patient Rooms.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been a difficult walk; but, the journey is as significant as the destination.
The walk through Dental School was a challenging one. The Doctoral program is grueling and nothing short of a true commitment.
The desire to open a private practice has been one, long-held, and I worked and studied with additional post-graduate education to become trained and experienced in the pursuit of opening my own dental office: studying at an Implant Preceptorship at the University of Texas Dental Branch in San Antonio; being certified to practice conscious sedation; creating my own business plan and concept of how a dental office should be established.
As a small business owner, your shoulders hold the weight of financial investment, and the concern of failure; no more potently, than at the beginning of opening your business.
There are many requirements of a small business owner in the beginning, many of which, you have few if any resources to prepare you: marketing, staffing your business; funding and budgeting.
Often times, in the beginning, you are your own asset. You are your funding. You are your staff. You are your advisor and planner. You will always work for you, like no one else will.
There are many bumps and hiccups along the way, things that are out of the small business owner’s control; things that were out of my control. A slow construction permitting process, for instance, adds weight to your concerns…”Will your business open on-time?” “What if you haven’t been open long enough, to pull in your projected revenue before bills are due?” “When will you be able to start bringing on your staff, if you aren’t certain when you will be able to open?”
As a small business owner, you are filled with the hope of manifesting the dream business you’ve envisioned.
Watching the business un-fold before you, moment by moment, a little more each day…until, the end, when the business is open.
The end becomes a new beginning.
The road leads to a destination that you hope and dream, but you never truly know.
Every step forward gives you more confidence, because you know you’re stepping on something firm, even when you don’t know precisely where that step forward will lead.
The road is a walk of faith, but that is life.

Dentistry at Artysan Lane is a Family and Cosmetic Dental Practice on Texas Parkway in Missouri City, TX/Stafford, TX area.
The Dental Office accepts patients of all ages, from 6 months old and Adult.
The Dentist performs a full and comprehensive range of dentistry, from exams and cleanings, to dentures, extractions of wisdom teeth, implants, and braces.
More so, the Dentist practices an integrative approach to dentistry, where the patient is an integral part of the treatment planning process.
The Dental Office specializes in creating a relaxing and inviting dental appointment for patients (adults and kids). The Dentist practices certified conscious sedation. The operatories are equipped with soft lighting for the relaxation and comfort of the patients. The operatories are designed as individual rooms for the patient’s comfort and privacy.

Along the way, I have been blessed to have a number of people that have stood in encouragement and support of my dream to open a Dental Office: my family, friends, former associates and team members in dental practice.
There was a team of people, each, professionals in their own field, that worked together to establish my dental office: my Architect, My General Contractors, My Real Estate Agent, My Dental Supply Representative and Equipment Representatives.
I believe God gave me a dream and a desire, and the steps I take toward achieving owning and maintaining a business, are led by Him.
