Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelin Cruz.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Working in the medical field since the age of 17, I’ve gained many experiences and great opportunities throughout my nine-year career. Working alongside great physicians and medical staff, it was the ideal career- but it wasn’t something I enjoy waking up every morning to do. I knew I wanted to do more.
June of 2015, I resigned and decided to follow my dreams! I remember the feeling of excitement and fear but I was ready and determined to find my passion. I then approached every interest I had like makeup, designing nails, selling clothes and so much more – but it just wasn’t “it”.
After checking off almost every interest I had, I was left with my ultimate favorite thing to do, Photography. It has always been a hobby of mine and I enjoy photographing my children. I thought to myself, this must be it!
On September 24, 2015, Photography By Evelin was established.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing is ever a smooth road. Life is all about challenges and obstacles to really bring out the beast in you. The only struggle I say was hard to overcome was myself. I doubted myself so much I gave up on myself three times before I even started. I felt that I needed acceptance from the people who matter the most in my life but in reality, I needed to accept and believe in myself.
