IDEA Lab Kids began in the summer of 2011. Ghazal, a Data Scientist / Computer Science Graduate and mom of three, recognized an absence of unique and specialized enrichment in after-school and camp programming. IDEA Lab Kids initially began as another child play alternative and has grown into a full multi-revenue stream business model operating out of its own brick and mortar campuses, as well as working directly with school districts in four different countries. It is Idea Lab Kids brand identity, reputation, and commitment to providing continuous, quality education that distinguishes the company today. Since starting to franchise in 2017, IDEA Lab Kids has a total of 14 franchises in the United States, Canada, Oman and Abu Dhabi.
Starting with a proof of concept in a small space, IDEA Lab Kids quickly grew to several Campus locations throughout Houston. Now, with a proven concept and a team of Innovators and Curriculum experts, IDEA Lab Kids is expanding globally. IDEA Lab Kids franchise system provides a stellar curriculum and a proven path to success for anyone passionate about educating the leaders of tomorrow while running a successful franchise.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Building a unique concept that is not out there in the marketplace was quite a challenge. Pushing the envelope in delivering cutting-edge curriculum required a lot of collaboration, testing, and patience. It has been a journey of passion, therefore these challenges seemed minute as each day we say the fruits of our labor taking place.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I knew how hard this journey would have been in starting something of this magnitude from scratch, I would probably have never started! It has been a long yet exhilarating road. I am just glad that I never knew how long and hard the path would be prior to starting. That allowed me to start this journey and finally see it to fruition.
Another major lesson learned to go with your heart and see where it leads you. I have put my heart and my soul into this and that has allowed me to be very successful.
