Meet Godswill Muofhe of Citizens of the Internet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Godswill Muofhe.

Godswill, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded Citizens of the Internet with the vision of creating more than just a clothing brand. I wanted to build a creative company where design meets production, a place where ideas don’t just stay ideas but become something people can hold, wear, and experience. Today, we help startups, businesses, nonprofits, student organizations, and creators bring their brands to life through custom apparel, merchandise, branding, and creative media.

The journey hasn’t been linear. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my share of challenges. There were times I had to put school on hold to help care for my family. Those experiences taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of showing up even when things don’t go as planned. Every obstacle became another lesson in leadership, and every challenge helped shape the way I run Citizens of the Internet today.

What motivates me most is helping people bring their vision to life. Whether it’s launching a clothing brand, creating merchandise for a nonprofit, or giving students real-world creative experience through our internship program, I love seeing an idea evolve from a conversation into something tangible. That’s what Citizens of the Internet has always been about, turning ideas into reality and building a community where creativity can thrive.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building a company from the ground up without a blueprint. Every stage of the business has presented a new problem to solve. From refining our brand and building internal systems to learning the technical side of production and operating specialized equipment, every milestone has come with a learning curve.

Building Citizens of the Internet has been a process of constant experimentation. Not every idea worked, not every investment paid off, and not every project went according to plan. I’ve had to adapt, refine my approach, and keep improving with every experience. I’ve taken plenty of losses along the way, but each one taught me something that helped move the business forward.

Looking back, those challenges are what shaped both me and the company. They’ve taught me to stay adaptable, trust the process, and focus on continuous improvement. Building a business isn’t about getting everything right the first time. It’s about learning, making adjustments, and showing up every day with a clear vision of where you’re trying to go.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Citizens of the Internet is a creative production company where design meets production. We help startups, businesses, nonprofits, student organizations, and creators bring their ideas to life through branding, custom apparel, merchandise, and creative media. Whether someone comes to us with a sketch on a napkin or an established brand, our goal is the same: turn an idea into something tangible that people can wear, share, and remember.

What sets us apart is that we don’t just print products. We think about the bigger picture. We ask questions like, “What story is this brand trying to tell?” and “How can we create something people genuinely connect with?” Because we understand both the creative and production sides of the process, we’re able to help clients build brands that feel intentional from concept to final product.

What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built around the brand. Citizens of the Internet has become more than a business. It’s a place where ideas are developed, students gain real-world experience through our internship program, and local brands find a creative partner they can grow with. As we continue to evolve, our mission remains the same: to create meaningful work and help bring great ideas into the real world.

Any big plans?
We’re still in the early chapters of Citizens of the Internet, and that’s the exciting part. Right now, we’re focused on expanding our capabilities so we can serve more people while continuing to create products we’re genuinely proud of. We’re investing in new equipment, growing our original product line, and refining our systems so we can provide an even better experience for our clients and community.
