Today we’d like to introduce you to Gustavo Vergara Pichardo DJ Expo.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born on June 28, 1991, in Mexico. Around the six years of age made my journey and a one-way ticket the US, As I Landed in Houston, Texas (CLUTCH CITY), HTOWN I set my standards on life. My Father, “Dj Geraldo” is actually a big part of why I am who I am right now. Music has always been in my blood. Like every teenager has their ups and downs and typical trouble making eras I’ve managed to focus primarily in my studies, from my participation in my high school soccer team and other school activities, trying to stay out of trouble.
As my senior year arrived, I had a terrible fracture in my knee that didn’t gave me the opportunity to get scouted from different universities, so I fell upset and mad at myself, felt in a minor depression and started distracting myself with the help of my dad, taking me to his private DJ events, to the radio station and to watch different artist performances VIP. It is there that I started to realize that I had a talent and I knew I wasn’t going to let it go to waste. I was falling in love with DJ’n and wanted to learn more and more. Throughout the years, I’ve been working hard on my public figure image to travel around the world and become one of Houston’s top Latin/International DJ to make it to the top, and become famous and stay always HUMBLE.
I started my professional career in 2011, from working local bars, private events and some of Southwest Houston Top Nightclubs such as Principe Azul nightclub, Metropolis Extravaganza, La Boom Houston, etc. I made the decision to continue my journey and EXPOSING my talents elsewhere. From different bars and lounges in Downtown and midtown; The Drake, Belle Station, Lincoln bar, Standard bar, Clutch bar and many more. I made my residency @ Capitol Bar, Lumen Lounge, Cafe Europe, Club Eden and Spy Lounge also attendance to Houston’s own Mega 101 FM radio. Part of Mixcloud Selective DJ’s. Never settle for less, set your goal to infinity and beyond!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve been through many struggles and sacrifices from giving up a lot in my life, I once was told that DJ’n wasn’t a “REAL’ job or career. As a father of two beautiful girls, I had to determine myself if I wanted to be a leader or a follower. So I gave up job opportunities to set and determined to make something out of nothing out of my talent. So after every obstacle, I came across, I’ve managed to accomplish more than I thought I would. Now Thanks to GOD and my family and friends who supported me DEEJAYEXPO has had a lot of doors open and I believe this is not the end and there’s a purpose and a seat waiting for me in the hall of fame!
Iamdeejayexpo – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success, for me, will always be about making a difference in other people’s lives. If I know that at the end of the day my work has helped someone to relieve their stress or dance their problems away or turn their life around, then I sleep well and wake up eager to start DJ’n and doing it all over again.
