Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Janice.
Jada, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was already an Esthetician before I actually knew what an Esthetician was. Growing up, my dad who is a hairy Creole man, use to ask me to pluck out his ingrown hairs with tweezers. I did with ease every time & of course, I’ll have him pop my pimples. He starts buying me those Biore extraction sheets. I used them faithfully.
I was always playing in my skin from that day on but it wasn’t until high school when I met this gem, whom I was close friends with for years. She was graduating early and going to “skin care school”. I began to ask like “oh what do you do there?’ She said facials & stuff & went into depth about them. She also said hair removal which interested me the most. That was like 2013. 2014, for my 18th birthday I enrolled myself in that same skincare school. I’ve been chasing my dreams ever since. Mrs. Tatiana my amazing instructor from Russian, she always told me I would go so far. She’s been all over the world with skin, that was pure motivation for me! So within a year, I graduated from Houston Training School and I immediately went to test and passed with flying colors. 2015, I’m officially a Licensed Esthetician. So here I am working as a Wax Specialist at European Wax Center, living my dream. Had a baby (2017) left that job & turned my dad’s dining room into a wax room. Clients would come and ask what else I do… I started making natural skincare products & I incorporated facials and paraffin wax treatments. I did that for years. All while still working a job and being a single mom to my best friend Nyla.
Of course, I didn’t have many clients but those people supported me so much they would always be so satisfied! I began to brainstorm… at this point, I’m starting to learn about things I was never taught BUSINESS. I must say I fell off so much then got back up then fell off again then got back up. I’ve been going hard now for about three years. Facials, waxing and making natural products. I would set up shop in every apartment I lived in, I would imagine things but wondered how do I even… where do I even start? With God, motivation from my peers and me imaging how lovely it would be to have the #1 skincare line of products is what got me to this chapter of life. Now I’m introducing you to my brand, my baby Heavenly Skin. May 17th, 2021 I received the keys to my own space. I quit my job the next day. Something came over me and said put your all into Heavenly Skin. I had a client the same day. Shop not even set up but sis needed me and she’s been rocking with me since the in house spa so I booked her appointment. When she came, all she could say was “wow Jada, I’m so proud of you” though this is only the beginning, it feels amazing. I have so much more to learn, so much more to do but I’m ready for the challenge. I was so close to giving up. Giving up on life so many times… I can safely say I’m glad I didn’t.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. A lot of times, I was broke trying to buy ingredients to make products. I would either have to ask someone to borrow money or steal essential oils and stuff. When I had the in home spa at my dad’s house, I would have to always tell him and my brother to not be home or to like stay out because I’m aiming for my client to have a nice peaceful experience. It’s already a house ya know…
Having anxiety from trauma also made the road rocky for me.

Heavenly Skin specializes in skin correction and handcrafts natural skincare products. I’m known for experimenting with natural ingredients such oils and herbs. I tend to make some unique things. I’m also known for the great extractions I do during a facial. I have a passion for skin. For correcting your skin. More so the natural way but what works for one may not work for the other so natural or chemically, Heavenly Skin is correcting. Hair removal, it’s a self-conscious/self-esteem thing. Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Put yourself first always. Set a goal. Strive. Grind. Focus. Ignore the devil There’s so much I didn’t learn as a kid. Don’t give up. It gets better. I’m still learning but I’m no longer afraid.
Surround yourself with somebody that bring out the best in you. Cut the negative and silent ones off. Protect your energy and always be yourself!
