Jana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been intrigued by fashion, art and design since I was young. I love creativity, makeup, and went through several hundred magazines clipping off different hairstyles that looked unique. I found myself piling up makeup from all sorts of brands Mac, Bobbi Brown, Dior and enjoyed giving my friends makeovers for fun and styling their hair for events and parties as a freelancer.
Eventually one day I knew this was the right career path for me. I wanted to change the way people feel about themselves and provide a sense of confidence and show off their inner beauty. I’ve decided to look for the best schools that would suit and fit my need, therefore I enrolled with Paul Mitchell and little did I know I landed a job with the most reputable salon.
I was able to learn from different hairstylist and begin building my own clientele working from the bottom up. I always knew what hairstyles suited well for different clients and for others I try to find and create an innovative look for their everyday look. That’s when I discovered my niche in the beauty industry and how I found my way to 3930Ego.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
A smooth road will never be as rewarding to me as a rough road. I strive to be successful in the path I have chosen for myself. Every obstacle I have encountered has been a learning and growing experience for me.

At 3930Ego, I have the ability to collaborate with other respectable and talented stylists. We are our own boss but still have the teamwork mentality to be successful. What sets me apart from others is my ability to color correct different hairstyles and achieve the best results for my client by providing one on one experience and focusing on their needs. Their experience means more to me than anything so I pride myself for being the best and doing only the best for my client.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t have done anything differently, sure I’ve made some mistakes in the past but who hasn’t? It’s what makes me who I am today.
