Jane, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for travel. After a successful career in Logistics – operations management, warehouse design, hardware and software design, and transport of goods worldwide – I was able to realize my dream of attending the Cordon Bleu in Paris and exploring Bruges, Belgium.
I recreated the movie In Bruges, staying in the same locations and visiting all the landmarks made famous by the movie. When I returned home, I decided to translate that passion for travel into a career and started Holidays By Jane.
Has it been a smooth road?
Changing careers is always difficult – and the learning curve adapting to a completely different industry is even tougher. When I started, I joined the exclusive Virtuoso consortium, an elite, invitation-only group of travel agencies allowing me to leverage a global alliance of the finest hotels, resorts, cruise lines and premier destinations and the resources of tens of thousands of advisors worldwide. I would say this decision was one of the most important parts of building my business – aligning with the “best of the best” for my clients.
One of the hardest struggles I face is to ensure I stay true to myself and focus on destinations and experiences where I have a passion – because without passion, no matter what you do, you cannot bring the best to your clients. Two years into building Holidays By Jane, my sister Shelley joined the team and she has a passion for destinations and experiences where my heart does not take me – it is really a synergistic partnership and has helped to grow the business.

Holidays By Jane elevates our traveler’s experience – throughout the entire process – collaborating to understand exactly what is important and which experiences and locations will satisfy their travel needs (desires?). We have incredible partnerships with the top hotels, experiential tour providers and facilitators on the ground to ensure our clients receive the best service, exclusive amenities and amazing experiences they cannot get on their own.
My specialty is luxury Mexico – curating colonial, historical, UNESCO, beach and gastronomy locations for extraordinary custom vacations. I create luxury family beach getaways and off-the-beaten-path experiences that inspire and create lasting memories. I also focus on honeymoons and specialize in the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and the Maldives and LGTBQ honeymooners traveling to Mexico.

- We are a fee-based travel consultancy. How we work is the client gives us a brief overview of what they are looking for, dates, and budget and we provide some very high-level options and a fee structure – which can range from a $100 plan-to-go fee to $500 for an extensive highly-customized trip. Then we collaborate and communicate with our clients through our online travel app, building an itinerary and personalizing their travel experience. While they are traveling, they have access to us and our representatives on-site 24/7 handling any unexpected issues or concerns.
