Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Le.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My career as a stylist started eleven years ago in Seattle, Washington. Six years ago, I moved to Texas looking for a new beginning. Somehow, someway, I ended up in Katy, TX. After three kids and getting married, I decided to pursue my true passion again. I took a leap of faith and started doing booth rental.
Eventually, I moved into my own suite with just an assistant. After seven months of being in a suite, I was fully booked and turning away clients because I had no time. I was growing out of that one room suite. I realized it was time to open the salon I had always dreamed of. In December of 2016, I opened J L’Art Salon and Beauty Services. Just a year later, we have become the top salon in Katy, TX. Our vision here is to have women leave feeling just as beautiful as they are on the inside.
Has it been a smooth road?
Every new business has its struggles within the first year, and this one is no different. The biggest struggle J L’Art has had to overcome would be finding a staff that can portray the vision for my salon. And over the past year, I am proud to say I have found amazing women who carry the same passion as me. My team has become a family that is something that every client sees when they walk through our doors.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with J L’Art Salon & Beauty Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are not only the number one up and coming salon, but we are the first Davines salon in the area. Davines is a vegan and cruelty-free company based out of Italy dedicated to providing excellent quality products that are sustainable. We, also, have had the pleasure over the past year to team up with Green Circle Salons, an organization that promotes the recycling of hair products in an eco-friendly way. We really pride ourselves on our level of expertise and high-quality product.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The Houston area is so inclusive. People of different cultures and ethnicities come together to really bring out the best in each other. During Hurricane Harvey, everyone came together to repair and reconstruct. While we were fortunate enough to not have anything more than a few leaks at the salon, many others in the area had it much worse.
The city of Houston and its surrounding area is in the process of rebuilding but I am so proud to be a member of this great city. The only thing I would ever complain about would be the traffic because during certain times I dread getting in my car.
