Jigyasa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hi, I am Jigyasa, Founder of Chiro’s Brand. I have lived in the USA since July 1998. I have always been intrigued by the simplicity of fashion in the USA. Coming from a country where colors and embroideries are a major part of any ensemble, I was used to look high and low for great styles which offered a blend. In 2014, I decided to open my own line which would offer clothing choices for all occasions and at prices that were just right.
Then it was the arduous task of finding a name for the company. In India it is a tradition to honor our forefathers when we embark on a new journey, be it a marriage, admission into college, buy a new car or try anything else for the first time. Coming from a family with a tradition of working a regular 8-5 job, starting a business was a totally new experience for all of us.
In consultation of my spiritual Guru, I decided to name the company Chiro’s which is derived from my Grandfather’s name Chironji Lal. My Grandfather was a hardworking farmer and this company is a tribute to his diligence, family values, and honesty. Keeping these as a forefront to our company policy, we work very hard at getting you the selections that are a good fit for the occasion. We realize that most fashion attire is not repeated and hence in every price range, we offer selections that turn heads.
We are a wholesale and retail business dealing with ethnic and Indo-western, modern and contemporary clothing inspired from latest fashion trends world over. We supply to several home-based businesses as well as global online retailers. If you are looking for styles that blend the eastern and western fashions, simple everyday clothing or anything else, Chiro’s is the right choice.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I was always intrigued by the simplicity of western fashion. Coming from a land of colors and embroideries, our biggest challenge was to find a good blend between Indian colors/embroideries and western simplicity. We have achieved that by offering various colors that are subtle enough for the western woman.
Another challenge we faced was quality. We usually work with small businesses to get our designs made. However, the standards for Quality are very low when working with small businesses in India and China. Our solution to this issue was to meet with the manufacturers one-on-one and explain the details and importance of quality control at production so as to reduce rejections and returns.
On a personal level, my biggest challenge has been lack of time. I am a single mom with a full-time job. Balancing the act of managing a full-time job along with a business while raising three boys has not been easy. We have grown from offering just a few selections to several hundred. And we are now supplying to some of the largest online retailers in the industry.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success, in my opinion, is a good blend of returns of investment while providing employment to members of the society around me. When I started this company, I pledged to give back a percentage of our profits to the causes I believe in. These include providing for education for children in some third world countries and Supporting organizations that help women with mental health issues.
We hope to generate revenue of 3 million or more in the next three years.
