Meet Jules Palton of JAP Apparel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jules Palton.

Hi Jules, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My acting journey began in 1994 with my debut on Barney, where I was discovered through Quaid’s Talent Agency by my late talent agent, Julie. That opportunity opened the door to a career that has taken me through television, film, commercials, theater, print, and runway.

Early in my career, I booked campaigns for brands including Weiner’s, Foley’s (now Macy’s), Academy Sports + Outdoors, and Ralph Lauren, along with commercial work for Academy Sports + Outdoors, Houston Space Center, KHOU 11, T-Mobile, and others.

My first major film experience came with Hardball. Although I ultimately appeared as an extra, I had originally auditioned for the role of G-Baby and made it to the final round. While I didn’t land the role, the experience became an important lesson in an industry where preparation, resilience, and perseverance are essential.

Over the years, I have continued to build my résumé across multiple platforms. My credits include portraying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in CNN’s “LBJ” docuseries, appearing in “Salem,” contributing to “Dallas” on TNT in a supporting role, and walking in runway productions including LA Fashion Week. More recently, I have taken on roles such as Dr. Myles in “Surviving the Storm” on Amazon Prime and Langston in a stage production at the Deluxe Theater, along with commercial work for brands such as Home Depot and Jim Adler.

Now signed with Neal Hamil Talent Agency, I remain committed to expanding my career beyond the Houston market. My long-term goal is to establish myself in markets such as Atlanta or Los Angeles and earn substantial roles in episodic television and film.

The journey has not always been easy. Balancing a full-time career with acting opportunities has been necessary while building a sustainable life in the Houston market. But every setback, audition, and new opportunity has reinforced the same lesson that has carried me throughout my career: “Keep going, keep improving, and keep progressing.”

Today, I am also embracing my entrepreneurial side. Alongside acting, I continue to personal train and am preparing to launch my fitness apparel brand, “JAP Apparel — Just Always Progress.”

With an exciting year ahead and several projects on the horizon, 2027 represents another chapter in my journey. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow, creating new opportunities, and showing what is possible when you refuse to stop progressing.

Stay tuned.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has not always been easy. Balancing a full-time career with acting opportunities has been necessary while building a sustainable life in the Houston market.
Houston has opportunities for this industry if you put in the work and have really good representation, but if I could do it all over again, I would’ve branched out and broke into the markets of Los Angeles, Atlanta, and New York far sooner.
But every setback, audition, and new opportunity has reinforced the same lesson that has carried me throughout my career: “Keep going, keep improving, and keep progressing.”

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
JAP — Just Always Progress

My fitness apparel brand, JAP — Just Always Progress,is set to officially launch in December 2026 or January 1, 2027.

JAP is more than a name—it represents a mindset. The initials are my own, but they also embody the brand’s core philosophy: Just Always Progress.
The focus is on consistent improvement rather than perfection. Whether it’s another rep, a better meal, a stronger mindset, or simply showing up each day, progress is built through small, intentional steps repeated over time.

The inspiration behind JAP comes from my years as an athlete and my continued passion for fitness. That journey eventually led me to study the fitness industry and become a personal trainer, giving me firsthand experience with both the physical and business sides of the industry. Today, I continue to pursue fitness not only as a profession, but as a lifestyle and a passion.

My vision is to build JAP into a nationally and eventually globally recognized fitness apparel brand, with the ambition to compete alongside established names such as Gymshark, Nike, and Under Armour.
However, JAP will distinguish itself through a commitment to premium-quality fabrics, unique and versatile designs, consistent product availability, competitive pricing, and a strong connection to the people who wear the brand.

The goal is not simply to create another line of gym clothes. It is to build a brand and community centered around discipline, confidence, consistency, and personal growth. I want every piece of JAP apparel to represent the mindset that you do not have to be perfect—you simply have to keep progressing.

Ultimately, JAP is a reflection of my own journey and my belief that limitations are often self-imposed. “If you are willing to work for it, stay consistent, and continue progressing, you can turn an idea into something bigger than you ever imagined.”

“JAP — Just Always Progress.”

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Like most industries, it’s all about who you may know!! Attend events when they are available whether it is a pop up, a fashion show, movie premiere etc and just all around, be yourself.

Introduce yourself to people when you’re out and exchange contacts and social media. This is a great reason why you should keep your social media updated often.

Post your content daily or weekly, use hashtags, go live on TikTok and instagram if you have them.

If possible, invest in a credible publicist or a manager that can take you places you can’t get access regularly on your own or find a great talent through research and let them guide your career until they can’t anymore.

It’s always best to have multiple agents in major cities for casting purposes depending on how major it may or may not be.
