Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalani Ware.
Kalani, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started out as a producer my senior year in high school working with a few friends. I picked up engineering because we couldn’t afford an engineer. I ended up liking engineering as much as production because it made me a better producer. I’ve worked out of several studios and under a few producers at the beginning of my music career to gain the knowledge first hand that I needed to be able to run and operate my own studio. I’ve been the owner and operator at my own studio for the past 12 years but I’ve been a full-time entrepreneur for the past seven years. I’m a self-taught entrepreneur. I’ve never went to school for audio engineering or production. Music started out as a passion for me but now it’s a full-blown business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. Working in the music industry can be harsh. One of the few things I’ve learned is that it’s all business and you can’t do everything on your own. Some of the struggles that come with the music industry is battling for opportunity. It’s a few hundred producers or a few hundred engineers going for the same placement or situation so I’m always having to make sure my engineering and productions is up to par with today’s standards.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with KalaniOnDaBeat – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My company Bware productions is a production company. KalaniOnDaBeat is my producer name. I produce and engineer. I specialize in Rap, Trap, Rnb and Neo-Soul. I’m most proud of my new studio location. The thing that sets me apart from others is the quality of music whether its production or engineering and the customer service. I make sure I take care of my clients.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans are to expand to a 2nd location and get some bigger placements to help solidify my name further in the music industry.
