Today we’d like to introduce you to Kehinde Akanbi.
Kehinde, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am the CEO of Kstitches. I started the brand far back as 2008 in Lagos, Nigeria. It wasn’t easy at the beginning but focus and perseverance they say leads to success. So I put my eyes on the prize. My passion is what I’d call my greatest strength which has brightened the vision to my ambition. I moved to America in 2015, there were ups and downs in putting the brand into place out here but I persevered and kept on putting in massive work and improvement which has pushed the brand through till this day.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Firstly, there were difficulties in building the right clientele being in a new city and country that almost no one knew or had heard about the brand. Secondly, I had to study the market and the environment just to give the right fabric that soothes the weather out here to bring about the utmost satisfaction. Lastly, it gets challenging everyday because the goal is to better than the previous day or season. So we are still a work in progress.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about KStitches – what should we know?
Kstitches is a bespoke fashion label which provides an unprecedented blend of African and American fashion via due professional craftsmanship and a great eye for creative dealing. 2008, it started in Lagos state Nigeria as a small brand to design clothes and redefine style that are not just functional but aesthetically pleasing.
Kstitches specialize mainly in men outfits, African/American from Agbada to kaftans, dress shirts, office pants, suits, etc. We are proud of how fast the brand was able to spread out to cities and countries just in a few years and also how we have been able to satisfy all our clients evenly.
Kstitches has been able to stand out as one of the best African brands not just in Houston but also in different cities due to certain distinct attributes we have engrossed on our production. Firstly, our detailing is top-notch. The neatness of the stitches and threading.
Branding, what is fashion without proper branding? We have gone extra length to give our pieces the proper packaging which makes it stand out compared to others.
Services, we try all our possible best to enable our client’s order at convenience. Even if we have to take trips just to get a proper fitting. We stick to our appointments duly and professionally.
Lastly, delivery is always prompt and in excellence. Satisfaction is our main objective.
