Meet Lyanne Ariza of Laura Lyanne Beauty in Heights

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyanne Ariza.

Lyanne, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
First and foremost, I would like to thank my family, friends and all of my clients for believing in me and making my career something I enjoy doing day by day.

When I got out of high school, I thought I had life all figured out. Go to college for Criminal Justice, get a degree, become successful in the field, etc. Boy was I wrong! I took some classes which I ended up dropping due to me being pregnant and being due Fall of 2012.

It was hard. I could not concentrate. I just had too much going on! It took me some time to finally figure out what it was that I wanted to do, till I talked to a good friend of mine. “Just go for it Lyanne, it’s something that you’ve always liked to do. Don’t listen to your parents you’ll do great!” That’s when I enrolled in Cosmetology school In 2015 and from there my journey began.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was a bumpy road for sure! Being a single mother of a toddler, holding a full-time job, and going to school full time was definitely not easy! I worked from 7-3pm Monday-Friday and had school from 5-10pm Monday-Thursday. I kept that schedule for 18 months. The longest 18 months of my life.

Please tell us about Laura Lyanne Beauty.
Laura Lyanne Beauty specializes in Hair Color (balayage, highlights, etc.), cuts, Makeup and Hairstyling for special events. When my clients sit in my chair, I like to make them feel comfortable. I know it’s always nerve-wracking when you try out a new stylist, but I am always sure to provide them with lots of helpful information pertaining to their color services and answering any questions that they might have.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Sometimes fear of change stops us from bettering ourselves. It took me two years to leave my 9-5. I was scared of failure. Scared of not being able to provide for myself and my child. If I had to start over, I’d put that fear aside and concentrate on becoming the Hairstylist that I am now. Never let your fears stop you from taking that leap in life!
