Today we’d like to introduce you to Margret Rojas.
Margret, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
From the moment I was a little girl, I always loved fashion. Every time, I would go to the grocery store or Target, I would beg my parents to get the newest fashion magazine to read. I absolutely loved reading every page and get ting tons outfit and style tips and to this day I still do.
After college, as I was working in retail in the store and corporate side, Instagram started and I began showcasing my outfits for my friends and family. I always had so many people close to me ask for styling tips and that I needed to start to blog so I can share more of that with people other than friends and family. For the longest time, I said no because I honestly did not think anyone would be interested and I felt like there were already so many bloggers out there. Finally, one day in January 2015, I just went for it, and never turned back. Over the last 3 years, I have made it into my little fashion, travel and lifestyle haven for people to gather inspiration and to relate too. Behind my daughter and my husband, it is the thing I am most proud of and hope that my daughter grows up seeing that you can be whatever you want to be and love what you do, especially if it is your passion.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think it blogging we all go through similar struggles. From trying to gain followers, constantly brainstorm to create new and fresh photos and products, continue to grow and show brands that you are worth the investment, to make sure that we as “Bloggers” are in it together and to continue to be there for each other versus compete.
Even though these things are true and the road is not always smooth, I wouldn’t change it for the world because it has taught me so much and lead me to where I am today.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the STYLE THE GIRL story. Tell us more about the business.
STYLE THE GIRL LLC is my small business of fashion blogging. I officially became a business this past January and it was so exciting. Since I have been working on my blog for other 3 years and monetarily is in amazing shape, I thought the best way to build on my brand was for it to become a legit business.
STYLE THE GIRL is where woman and men go to gather inspiration for themselves, their significant others, family life and travel. I am known for showcase affordable fashion, how to mix high and low fashion, and a lot of mommy and me looks like my daughter.
I am most proud of how far I have come. I have attended two NYFW and the 3rd will be this September, I have worked with brands that I have loved for decades, I have been apart of national campaigns and my face has been on websites, in-store signage and more. It has been a dream come true and keeps getting more and more exciting.
Myself. There is no one else like me. I continue to be authentic to my followers and show them how life really is. If I am having a bad day, I tell them like they are my best friends; I share my life and my family as if they were apart of it. I hope people feel comfortable or like I am relatable when they see me, read my blog, view my photos, watch my videos or see me in person. I hope that helps me apart from everyone else.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
My goal in the next few years is to have my own online boutique. I have always wanted one for myself, but since brick and mortar stores are not doing so hot, and online is doing amazing, I figured this would be a great step. I want chic, yet affordable, pieces for a woman with also pieces for their mini-me. I can’t wait for this to happen and really blow it out of the water. To this day, I always get such great feedback for my coordinating or matching looks with my daughter, Sofia and with her as my model, I know people will be obsessed.
Personally, I can’t wait to have another child. Sofia will be the most amazing sister and my hubby is such an amazing daddy, that I can’t wait to see us as a family of four… or five.
