Meet Melodic Becca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melodic Becca.

Melodic, before we jump into specific questions why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in Houston TX in the heart of Sugar land with two older brothers and one sister. I’m the youngest of four, the baby of the family. Growing up I was always around music; my family was blessed to receive the gift of voice. So, at every gathering or celebration we would sing and enjoy life. My mother is a professional gospel singer and my father sang as well but never took it on as a profession. My father went to college while working three jobs to obtain his doctorate degree in education. He became an elementary principle. My parents have been my motivation when it comes to success. Watching them love others and give to others put a spark in me to want to do the same. I followed both of my parents’ journey. When I was eight years old, I performed my very first solo in church in front a huge congregation. I was a bit nervous, but my mother always encouraged me never fear because God is with you. It was that moment when I noticed my gift of voice and what I was meant to do here on earth. So, many people gave their lives to Christ on that day. Who knew my little voice would impact so many lives. From that day on my mother has been my vocal coach training me for every performance.

At the age of sixteen I joined an all girls group called Gyrlfriend and was able to work with Clive Davis from J-records, Harvey Mason Jr, Tank, Keri Hilson and more. It was a great experience and I was blessed to be able to learn from a lot of great musicians at an early age. I eventually went solo and started my solo career that led me to open up for Brian McKnight, and Kem one of the most amazing R&B legends in our time at The Arena Theater in Houston TX. I was able to sing The National Anthem in three opening occasions for The Houston Dynamo as well. Both moments meant a lot to me because the feeling of being able to serenade your audience is absolutely amazing. After a while performing in Houston I decided to move to California and spread my wings there. Once I moved, I was able to work with Adonis, Eric King and some amazing producers. I released my first two singles Miss Me and All the time in the World in 2018. Right after my single release I was able to perform around La and touched so many hearts while representing for my hometown. I was able to start my own nonprofit called The Love Box and collaborates with Northridge Hospital to give toys to 1,000 plus children who are less fortunate every year for Christmas. I believe in giving back, helping others in need and blessing others. This is something my parents taught me and I carry with my character on every journey in my life.

Once my two singles released, I was able to find my soulmate and finish college with my communications degree and early childhood education degree. My father always told me to finish college. Even though my passion is in entertainment, I still believe in obtaining your education. You never know when you may need it in the entertainment business world. My journey and life have been a blessed one and I’ve had some struggles but with prayer, and listening to my parents helped shapes my success to where I’m today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey and road to success has had its ups and downs. Some of my struggles would have been overcoming abuse. In my earlier stages I was in a bad abusive relationship that hindered me from my path. I was able to overcome it and walk away and now I’m a survivor from abuse and I walk with my head high with confidence knowing my worth. To any women or girl who is in an abusive relationship it’s never too late to walk away and once you do, you will feel amazing placing your crown back on your head. We are all queens.

Melodic Becca Music – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in songwriting and music development. I write songs for local artist and for myself. I’m actually about to release my next single called “Good Girl vs Bad Girl “this year. I’m really proud of that record because it has so much meaning to it and a lot of women and men will be able to connect with it. What sets me apart from others would be that I don’t limit myself. I loved taking risk and thinking outside the box it brings the best out of me when writing.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career would have been singing live to Clive Davis and starting my nonprofit to help less fortunate children enjoy Christmas by giving them toys.
